Tropical Storm Beryl expected to re-intensify to hurricane strength and
make landfall on the central Texas coast early on Monday; very heavy rain
and gusty winds expected to spread well inland through the next couple of
days...

...Extreme heat becomes less intense in California but continues in the
Desert Southwest and interior Pacific Northwest; more heat and humidity
for the Mid-Atlantic as well....

...Focus of severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in Oklahoma into this
evening will give way to heavy tropical downpours associated with Beryl
tracking up eastern Texas...

...Critical Fire Weather over portions of southern Utah...

After reorganizing over the western Gulf of Mexico, Tropical storm Beryl
is poised to regain hurricane strength as it begins to track more
northward toward the central Texas coastline.  Heavy showers and
thunderstorms associated with the outer rainbands of Beryl have already
moved onshore into eastern Texas this Sunday afternoon.  Additional
rainbands will likely impact much of coastal Texas with increasingly
squally conditions overnight as the core of Beryl approaches the central
Texas coast.  The National Hurricane Center expects Beryl to re-intensify
into hurricane strength by this evening with the possibility for a period
of significant intensification as the center of Beryl nears the coast.
Residents in the affected areas should be ready to follow evacuation and
other instructions from local officials when prompted to do so.  Following
landfall, Beryl is forecast to continue tracking northward across eastern
Texas on Monday with very heavy tropical downpours and squally conditions
spreading from south to north through Monday, along with a chance for
isolated tornadoes.  Total rainfall amounts of 5 to 10 inches with
localized amounts of 15 inches are expected near and just east of the
track of Beryl through Monday night.  Highest amounts are expected near
the coast. The heavy rainfall will likely produce areas of flash and urban
flooding, some of which may be locally considerable.  Minor to isolated
moderate river flooding is also expected.

As Beryl tracks farther inland, it will come into increasing interaction
with an upper-level trough over the mid-section of the country and will
begin to lose tropical characteristics Monday night.  The upper trough
will also turn Beryl toward the northeast across Arkansas on Tuesday as
Beryl becomes extratropical.  Some gusty winds can be expected as
extratropical Beryl tracks across Arkansas toward the Mid-Mississippi
Valley on Tuesday.  A period of heavy rain can also be expected just

Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom. On your Monday, 8th day of the month of July 2024. And Hurricane Burl moving into the coast of Texas, just north of Corpus Christi, south of the Houston area Actually a Category 1 hurricane as it made land and will move across East Texas, then into Arkansas sections of the Tennessee Valley and then into the Northeast as a rainstorm sometime by later Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

Weather-wise for the northeast Carter, from DC up to the Boston area, heat advisories continue. Temperatures will range between 90 and 95, with heat index values up to 104 for DC, new York City, the Boston area, a little bit cooler there and there may even be some scattered showers for the islands, cape Cod, nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. However, we are looking at very warm, generally dry weather for both Monday and Tuesday. No problem weather-wise flying in and out of the New York, philadelphia and Boston area for at least the first couple of days of this week. By Wednesday the remains of Burr will be in our area and that will cause delays into the northeast. Elsewhere, atlanta looks like showers and thunderstorms for Monday. South Florida mostly just scattered thunderstorms in the southeast coast and then southwest, also showing some thunderstorms and some action of, as far as weather is concerned, off of Tampa, St Pete and to the west of Sarasota into the Gulf. But we're also looking at Atlanta showing lots of showers and thunderstorms with a disturbance that's sort of meandering across Atlanta that will cause some delays into there, some thunderstorms into the Chicago area as our slow-moving frontal system trudges eastward. Same thing for Minneapolis-St Paul.

The heat continues in the west. Temperatures in the heat basins of Nevada and eastern California are going to be in the 115, 125 category. Very, very hot there. West Coast also from the San Diego area, los Angeles, san Francisco, all looking dry but above normal. Temperatures continue all the way up to the Seattle and the Portland area on Monday and Tuesday. So no major problems as far as the weather is concerned. In the northeast corridor. Look for highs of 90 to 95 both on Monday and Tuesday. So no major problems as far as the weather is concerned in the northeast corridor. Look for highs of 90 to 95 both on Monday and Tuesday. And is also for central and northern New Jersey. And then by Wednesday looks like that rainy weather pattern could get between one and three inches of rain while the remains of Rome are in the northeast area. I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletieri, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Tuesday.
