Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Thursday. It is the 18th day of the month of July and we've got some great weather moving into the northeast. We had some thunderstorms move through during the afternoon and evening on Wednesday. In some places over an inch of rainfall, even the possibility of some strong hail. There were some very severe thunderstorms both on Tuesday afternoon and on Wednesday in some sections of southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey and the Delmarva Peninsula.

But now that frontal system is a little bit further east. The front lies from Nova Scotia just over the coast of Cape Cod, over the coastal area of Massachusetts and then east of the Jersey Shore but then crosses over to the central and southern portion of Delmarva. The frontal system also stationary across central North Carolina, south Carolina and then down into central and northern portions of Alabama and Mississippi. The area of low pressure is going to be developing along the Gulf Coast and travel up along that and give some rain for the next several days to the southeastern states. So the weather situation for the northeast corner is just going to be sunny for the next several days, a better chance of some scattered showers in the DC area, but dry for Philly, up to New York City and up to the Boston area. On Thursday and Friday, temperatures mainly in the mid to upper 80s, near 90, of course, in the cities. Saturday and Sunday also looking fair, with this high pressure currently across the central Great Lakes building due east, and it's going to give them great weather for Saturday and Sunday. Both days temperatures in the 80s and near 90s.

Southeastern states, though, looks like a different story If you're flying. Over the next several days it looks like the Atlanta area will be right along that stationary front and there'll be afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Similar showers and thunderstorms in Charlotte and also in Atlanta, all the way down to Houston and to the east of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Four-quarters region still had the monsoons, heavy rains there. But the west coast was looking dry from San Diego up to LA, san Francisco, portland and Seattle. No problem weather-wise there, as there will also be dry conditions, as mentioned, and some typical summer weather a little bit on the hot side in Chicago and Minneapolis-St Paul, recapping for the day. It looks for the northeast corner. We're going to have some great weather over the next several days 80s to near 90 each day today right up through Sunday. I'm meteorologist, steve Felthutierian.
