Hi , this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman . Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom . On this Friday it's the 19th day of the month of July , a month that's showing us quite a bit of warm conditions across the northeast corridor , just taking a look at some of the averages that we see for Central Park , so far running about three degrees above normal and , most importantly , they've had , looks like , nine days of temperatures of 90 degrees or higher , the most of which was about 95 degrees on the 8th , 94 on the 16th , and even in the month of June there were six days of temperatures above normal . So this is a general situation that you're finding between DC and up into Boston area . Of course , for much of the nation the temperature trends have been well above normal , as the same thing for much of the nation , the temperature trends have been well above normal , as the same thing for much of the world Very warm conditions , as I mentioned , probably due to the extreme high amount of solar , wind and solar flares that occurred during the month of May , and the atmosphere is just absorbing all that and then just translating it to higher temperatures . Yes , there is some human , man-made events that cause the temperatures to be on the upside on a regular basis , but to have something like this so quick and to have something so amazingly , to have aurora borealis to be seen in florida , come on , that means that the storms were very strong and of course we're feeling that all across the nation and for that that matter , across the world as well Well , weather-wise for the northeast corner it looks like some great weather coming up on your Friday , saturday , sunday , even to Monday , now each day , temperatures and rains in the 80s , near normal conditions expected at least for today and also for Saturday , but up to near 90 degrees for Sunday , monday , into the middle portion of next week , more showers and thunderstorms likely and that is going to put us into temperatures into the 80s . So really not excessive heat , at least for the last week or so of the month of July .

Here's a look at the weather situation across the nation . If you're flying today , aviation-wise and the airlines looking pretty good , from Minneapolis to Chicago , to Cleveland , detroit , all good weather into New York , philly , washington DC , even up to Boston and up into central and northern New York , up around Buffalo , even up in Toronto and Quebec , no problems weather-wise . This big area of high pressure is building east , but that frontal system . It's stationary and it lies from coastal Texas right in through northern Louisiana , central Alabama , mississippi , right into northern Georgia and it's going to be causing some showers and thunderstorms into Atlanta , causing some delays there and with those delays into the Atlanta area it sort of affects the whole nation and you will probably have scattered delays also into Florida . Most of the heavier rains from Jacksonville down to about Tampa , st Pete and Ocala , but further south just isolated afternoon thunderstorms as their typical wet season continues there . Also around Charlotte looking at the possibility of some scattered thunderstorms , but not as bad as the Atlanta area . That's where you're going to have some heavier storms in those places . Dallas looking pretty good , houston will have showers and thunderstorms , four Corners still having the monsoons Looks like dry weather from the west coast , la all the way up to Seattle , tacoma no problems flying in and out of those places because of the weather .

If you have some delays could be because of everything getting stopped up one way or another in Atlanta and also around the Gulf Coast and some of those connections through there . New York area is looking pretty good , as mentioned . Hey , have yourself a great Friday . It looks like excellent weather .
