Speaker 1:

Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieria and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Sunday, 21st day of the month of July 2024. Weather across the Northeast Carter is calling for a lot of cloud coverage of the south and some sunny weather to the north, right in between New York City, northern and central New Jersey. You're going to have partly to mostly sunny skies with just a slight chance of a shower, as our high temperatures range in the 80s to near 90 degrees. Partly cloudy at night, down to 69. Monday's weather, tuesday and Wednesday all looking at a good deal of midday sunshine but also the chance of some showers and thunderstorms. The probability increases to 50 percent on Monday, up to about 70 percent for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, each day, with temperatures mainly in the mid to upper 80s.

Speaker 1:

Taking a look at the airline hubs across the nation, if you're flying on this Sunday or Monday still have lots of rain across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states. Looks like some delays getting into the Atlanta area and also in Charlotte as well. Of course this is because of weather delays, not because of the extensive communication delays that they've been having because of computer outages over the last several days. Houston's looking pretty good, although there will be some scattered showers and thunderstorms. In Dallas-Fort Worth, the Four Corners region, also still having those monsoon rains during the afternoon hours, starts off generally dry in the early going. So if you're getting into Phoenix or into New Mexico in the early going, looks like the weather's okay but maybe some late-day thunderstorms there. West Coast still on the dry side, from San Diego all the way up to Seattle, tacoma, south Florida, also looking at some scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially across the Keys and just offshore of Naples and the Fort Myers area. Looks like they're basically going to have sunny weather, highs in the 90s and late-day and evening thunderstorms as is typical. I mentioned the good weather up in the northeast. It does look like decent conditions, no problem weather-wise in New York, newark or even up in the Boston area. Dc could have some scattered showers and thunderstorms and slow things down there.

Speaker 1:

Air quality across the nation on this Sunday looks like we will have still some moderate pollution and also some allergens in the mid-Atlantic and northeastern states. That includes Connecticut, rhode Island, new York, especially southern New York and the city, of course, all of New Jersey, pennsylvania, ohio, indiana, illinois and southern portions of Michigan. Air quality across the nation looks like on this Sunday we will have some moderate pollution and allergens in the central Mississippi River Valley and to the southern Great Lakes eastward through Pennsylvania, new Jersey and New York City and Connecticut as well. Decent conditions across the Mid-Atlantic states. Of course they're having rainy weather across the Carolinas down into Georgia, into central and northern Florida and also into coastal Texas, but much of the nation in the Rockies. That's where we're going to have some pollution alerts there, probably during the afternoon and evening hours. That's where we're going to have some pollution alerts there, probably during the afternoon and evening hours. That will be gradually moving eastward.

Speaker 1:

Looks like coastal areas of California up through Oregon and Washington looking pretty good on Sunday. As I mentioned yesterday, the main culprit and the air quality being on the lower side across the northern tier is the grass pollen. Grass pollen almost moderate to high in New Jersey, southern New York, much of northwestern Pennsylvania, northern Ohio, illinois, indiana and southern Michigan and also across northern Idaho, eastern sections of Washington and over the eastern section of Oregon as well. Check in on Sunday afternoon. We'll give you an update as far as the grass pollen and also the total air quality expected for Monday of this week. I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking in. Have a great day and talk to you first thing, monday.
