Speaker 1:

Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Wednesday 24th day of the month of July. My goodness, this month is running by. We're going to have showers and thunderstorms up along the eastern seaboard. First the forecast from DC up to the Boston area Showers and thunderstorms associated with a frontal system stationary from just over central Louisiana up through the eastern portion of Kentucky and Tennessee. West Virginia, then right into the New York City area, is the pathway for areas of showers and thunderstorms to form and move along to the area. We'll have them on and off throughout the daytime, especially from mostly coastal Massachusetts southward all the way down into central and northern Florida. Also, looking at a frontal system working its way out of the Great Lakes, it extends generally across northern Missouri, through Central and eastern Illinois and northern Indiana, then through Lake Erie and Ontario. That frontal system will be arriving the east on Thursday. Once it moves through big area high pressure building down at the Dakotas. That's going to be moving into the eastern seaboard and giving some great weather for this upcoming weekend. If you're traveling aviation-wise across the nation, the airline hubs, it looks like Atlanta will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, as they've had for the last couple of days. Some slight to moderate delays there. Light to moderate delays into the Charlotte area as well, because of heavy showers and thunderstorms as a possibility. Same thing for Houston and into Dallas-Fort Worth dry but hot. Looks like showers and thunderstorms for the Chicago area and into northern Illinois and Indiana, as indicated. West Coast looking dry, though We've got fair conditions from San Diego all the way up to Portland and Seattle Tacoma.

Speaker 1:

Here's the outlook for the air quality across the nation today through tomorrow, wednesday, through thursday, still looking at some moderate air pollution and air pollutants extending from the mid-atlantic states new jersey, new york city, long island and then westward through the state of pennsylvania, also into the ohio valley, the western plain states. Actually looks like we're going to have moderate conditions all the way into the western portion states. It looks like we're going to have moderate conditions all the way into the western portion of the nation from Dallas Westward, all the way into California, and the only place in the west that's probably going to be okay is in the Pacific Northwest, from Portland up to the Seattle area, where some clouds and some showers will gradually be moving in. Also looks pretty good across much of the Great Lakes, but the central portion of the nation looks like air quality will be on the tough side today right through tomorrow. And the main culprit as far as allergies are concerned the grass pollen. The grass pollen reaching a maximum across the Ohio Valley and also into the northeast and into sections of the Dakotas and eastern Montana.
