Beryl continues to make its trek through the Lower Great Lakes and toward
the Northeast this afternoon as a Post-Tropical Cyclone. Thunderstorms
forming both ahead of an approaching cold front nearing the Mid-Atlantic
and along/north of a warm front stretching from northern New York State to
New England will be capable of containing intense rainfall rates, which is
likely to produce numerous areas of flash flooding. A Moderate Risk (level
3/4) of Excessive Rainfall remains in effect from northern New York to
northern Vermont and New Hampshire, where the greatest chances for
widespread flash flooding exists. Additionally, tornadoes and damaging
winds are possible across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States until late
tonight. Residents and visitors in these regions are reminded to stay
weather aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings.

The aforementioned cold front entering the Mid-Atlantic tonight is
forecast to stall along the East Coast to end the work week, with an
increase in thunderstorm coverage on Friday. At least a few inches of
rainfall are forecast to impact areas from coastal South Carolina to
southern New Jersey, including much of the eastern Mid-Atlantic. A Slight
Risk (level 2/4) of Excessive Rainfall has been issued for this region on
Friday to highlight the potential for scattered flash flooding. Not only
will this frontal boundary increase rainfall chances, but dangerous heat
experienced across the East will greatly abate for the end of the week.

Extreme and record-breaking heat will continue throughout much of the
West, with the focus beginning to shift out of the Pacific Northwest and
towards the High Plains, while remaining in the Southwest. Highs are
forecast to soar into the upper 90s and triple digits for these locations,
with 110s and 120s possible in the typically hot desert/interior valley
locations of California, Arizona, and Nevada. Dozens of daily high
temperature records are forecast on Thursday and Friday from the West
Coast to the High Plains. Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories
remain in effect for much of the western United States in order to further

Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom. On this Thursday it is the 11th day of the month of July 2024. And taking a look at the weather situation for the Northeast looks like generally fair, but hot weather continues Not as hot as it has been. Temperatures are bringing close to 90 degrees from DC to the Boston area, cooler in the upper 80s across northeastern Pennsylvania, the Poconos and Catskills of New York and also across the Berkshires of Massachusetts. But we are looking for a little bit of a change coming up over the next 24 hours. Our frontal system will be arriving in the east, could give us some showers and thunderstorms during the daytime on Friday and Friday evening. In returns, a big area of high pressure across the Great Lakes will bring in some dry weather for this upcoming weekend. Though starting out generally fair on Saturday, it gets back into the hot weather for Monday, tuesday through Wednesday of next week, before returning to some more seasonable conditions, a little bit cooler weather, towards the end of next week. In the meantime, though, for the aviation interest across the nation, if you're traveling on Thursday or Friday right now, for the aviation interest across the nation if you're traveling on Thursday or Friday. Right now it looks like Atlanta looking pretty good. Charlotte's also looking just generally fair. There will be some showers and thunderstorms across to the eastern portion of the Carolinas and coastal Virginia, but it looks like that should stay east of the Charlotte area. As mentioned, we're looking at generally dry conditions from DC up to the New York area, except for those showers and thunderstorms during the daytime on Friday. Texas showing lots of showers and thunderstorms in the Houston and Austin area. However, dallas-fort Worth just fair and hot.

Hot weather continues into the Four Corners region and the western Plain states. It looks like we are also going to have dry conditions from most of southern California all the way up to Oregon and and into seattle washington as well. Scattered showers across south florida nothing too unusual for this time of year, although there will be some heavier rains once again just to the east of tampa. St pete recapping for today plenty of sunshine expected, but we do expect showers and thunderstorms to move in on Friday across the northeast corridor and in the New York City area. It looks like sunshine today up to near 90 in the 80s tomorrow, with those showers and thunderstorms in the 80s on Saturday back up into the 90s.
