Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpondcom on your Monday. It is already, magically, the 26th day of the month of August and looks like our weather situation in the east looking pretty good. The rains are in West Texas, mostly over New Mexico, eastern Arizona, also Eastern Colorado, western Kansas, nebraska, up through the Dakotas, eastern Montana and through Minnesota. That's where our frontal system is stationary at this point. There's a big area of high pressure just north of there into central Canada that's going to be spilling southward and we'll move into the eastern seaboard towards the end of the week. But in the meantime we do have some hot weather to come, probably by later Tuesday and Wednesday. By Wednesday temperatures will range into the 90s in many communities across the mid-Atlantic and northeast, including the Tennessee and the Ohio Valley. So we've got some hot weather. One more shot of that before we get back to some cool conditions to end the month of August.

Thursday, friday and Saturday of this week. For today, though, for the northeast Carter, sunshine might be a late-day thunderstorm Highs 85 to 90. Tuesday mostly sunny Highs 85 to 90. Wednesday mid-90s late-day thunderstorms are likely. This has that cold front that I mentioned we'll be moving through on Thursday and Friday, looking fair, in the 70s to near 80 both days If you're flying about on this Monday. Aviation-wise we're looking at pretty good conditions in Atlanta and Charlotte. New York City area might have some isolated thunderstorms in the later afternoon but it doesn't look like anything major at this point. So I don't see any significant delays in the New York, newark, laguardia, jfk or Philadelphia areas. And looking out towards Texas also Houston, some scattered thunderstorms. Dallas, fort Worth is dry, amarillo probably some showers and thunderstorms. Chicago is looking fair but Minneapolis could be some locally severe thunderstorms so some delays into Minneapolis. St Paul expected for Monday afternoon, monday night into early Tuesday. West Coast is looking dry, from San Diego up to LA, san Francisco, maybe some rain showers in the Pacific Northwest.

Here is the allergy report A lot of ragweed that has been just dogging the nation. Looks like it's going to continue Monday and Tuesday. We may get a little bit of a break from this towards the end of the week, but right now, as far as ragweed is concerned, it is very high From Cape Cod, coastal Massachusetts, all the way in through New Hampshire, vermont, new York, pennsylvania, new Jersey, maryland, the Delmarva Peninsula, the Virginias, also through the Tennessee Valley, both Kentucky, tennessee, central Mississippi River Valley, all the way up to the Great Lakes, all the way out to Montana into Wyoming and Colorado. Even Texas, for the most part showing at least moderate to very high, to some very high, especially in the northern portion of Texas near Oklahoma. That's where they will have very high rag weeks. So still a tough situation.

Western portion of the nation, from the Rockies westward, that's where it looks like it'll be low to moderate ragweed expected for both Monday and Tuesday. So if you're a hay fever sufferer and ragweed is the culprit, it is going to be tough for today, probably right up through Wednesday. I'm your brother, justin Filatieri, and I am the weatherman. We'll take another look at it on Tuesday. In the meantime, have a great day today and enjoy your upcoming week.
