Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Friday. It is the 30th day of the month of August, pretty quickly coming to the end of the month, and we see a lot of complex weather in the eastern seaboard as we approach the big Labor Day weekend. As a matter of fact, it does look like our weather situation will be a little bit touch and go as we head towards Saturday and even on Sunday, with a strong frontal system working its way through the Great Lakes, much of the nation's midsection, from Kansas northward, all the way up through the Dakotas and up into Montana and into the Pacific Northwest, will be generally dry, as high pressure is coming down from Canada and it's going to give them some pretty good weather. But that frontal system still hasn't moved through the Tennessee and the Ohio Valley and the Mid-Atlantic states, including DC, to the Boston area, the Northeast Corridor, and that's going to bring in some scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday. Might linger for a while into Sunday, but it looks like by later Sunday and Monday high pressure from the Great Lakes will move into the eastern seaboard. It looks like some great weather expected for Monday. As a matter of fact, much of the first few days of the new month of September. Next week we're going to have some really spectacular nice weather in the northeast, especially New York City, dc, philadelphia and up in the Boston area Elsewhere. As we take a look around the area, if you are traveling on Friday, the heavier thunderstorms will be in and around the Chicago area, detroit, all the way down into St Louis. Also some scattered thunderstorms in New Orleans, houston, dallas, fort Worth also will have some scattered thunderstorms, not as bad as it will say, from Amarillo up to Lubbock with a frontal system that's almost stationary there, extending into New Mexico, and then the front does extend up through the central Mississippi River Valley into Kentucky and Tennessee and that's going to give them some rain and some thunderstorms for Friday night and also on Saturday night. But eventually that high pressure builds in and it looks like great weather. So for the northeast corner on Friday I look for mostly cloudy skies on east, winds, some scattered showers from place to place and temperatures only in the 70s on Friday. It'll be into the 80s on Saturday with clouds and sun and late day and evening thunderstorms. That's that cold front I mentioned moving through, then great weather for later.

Sunday, monday, tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Temperatures will be comfortable in the 70s with low relative humidity. By Monday, if you're traveling on Friday, it looks like we will have some thunderstorms, as mentioned, in Atlanta and also in Charlotte, new York area. Not too bad. It looks like the heaviest weather will be later in the day on Saturday and Saturday night. So if you're traveling on Friday, no major problems into the northeast, but Chicago will have those heavier thunderstorms. But it does look dry from LA to San Francisco, all the way up to Seattle and Tacoma on Friday and on Saturday as well. I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletieri, I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great weekend, holiday weekend coming up, but we will update you and give you an update on the pollen situation on Friday, seeing some new information coming in around midday, and we'll update you then on Friday. Have yourself a great day and a great weekend, take care.
