Hi, this is meteorologist Teague Pelletieri and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Saturday. It's the last day of August, the 31st of August 2024. First we're going to take a look at the ragweed. It looks like the ragweed is really a big problem across the eastern seaboard all the way out into the central and western plain states. We have very high ragweed pollen in the atmosphere, extending from southern New England down through New York City and into much of New York State, all of New Jersey, delmarva, maryland, the Delmarva Peninsula, central and northern sections of West Virginia. Then it extends into the Great Lakes right into the central Mississippi River Valley, including Chicago, minnesota, all the way out to the Dakotas, montana, and also over Wyoming and Colorado, north Texas, also under severe amounts of ragweed. So it's a big problem. West Coast is showing high amounts from Seattle, tacoma all the way down at least to San Francisco. It looks like not too bad down in the southern portion of California, northern Baja, where there's a little bit of some drying conditions there, or some at least cleansing air into southern California, mostly around San Diego, and then eastward into the western portion of Arizona. So also looking at fairly decent conditions around coastal Texas and Louisiana, central and south Florida. Of course they're having some rainy conditions and some winds off the water, keeping the pollen situation really on the lighter side there. But the nation's midsection Great Lakes, right to the eastern seaboard, dc up to the Boston area high ragweed concentrations on Saturday.
Speaker 0:Here's the weather situation across the nation. We have a weather front that's moving out of the Great Lakes extending into New York State, then down into central and southern Ohio, the central Mississippi River Valley and then down into central and east Texas, and it's going to be some locally severe weather associated with that front, mostly across southern Ohio, tennessee Valley, all the way down into east Texas. That'll be during the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday. South Florida, with just some scattered heavy thunderstorms as a possibility later afternoon and during the early evening hours In the meantime, looks like some drier conditions moving across the Dakotas and Montana and also dry from most of the West Coast, san Diego all the way up to Seattle and even into the West Coast of Canada, up into southern Alaska as well. Also looking at generally dry conditions across much of Colorado, kansas, nebraska and into Iowa as well, as a second frontal system and high pressure starts to move down from Canada Eastern seaboard though looks like some heavy showers and thunderstorms, mostly later in the day on Saturday and Saturday night. Here's the weather forecast for the northeast corner of DC up to the Boston area centered around New York City and central and northern New Jersey where we're located. We do have an increase in clouds, lots of cloud cover, temperatures in the 80s, with a little warm front pokes through and that will cause scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon, mostly overnight Saturday into Sunday. It could even linger for a while into Sunday morning. But Sunday afternoon, sunday night and Labor Day Monday looks like the weather's going to be really spectacular Great weather moving in for Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday of next week in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states as well.
Speaker 0:I'm your manager, steve Pelletier, and I'm the weatherman. Hope you have a great day and a great Labor Day weekend. It's a little bit choppy to start on here Saturday, but the weather will be improving from about midday Sunday through Labor Day in the Northeast Southern states, still with a lot of showers and thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday there. The rest of the nation will be enjoying some nice Canadian air moving down, especially over the northern plains. I'm Steve Pelletieri. Thanks for checking in. Talk to you first thing on Sunday.
