Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman, and thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Sunday. It's the first day of September 2024 and we open up the month with generally shower action across the northeast corridor where the frontal system just pushing through, as that front really goes through the area, it will give us some great weather. Coming up for Labor Day, monday, it looks like mostly sunny skies from the northeast corridor from DC up to the Boston area, highs 70s to near 80. Tuesday, wednesday, thursday and Friday all looking generally fair. Next, probability of some showers, with another weather front maybe on Friday of this week and then it should open up to some nice weather for it next weekend as well.

Taking a look around the nation, with that weather front most likely arriving sometime between, say, 4 and 8 pm on Sunday, extending from Maine all the way down into the central Mississippi River Valley, the high pressure behind it centered right over Minnesota and moving towards the Great Lakes, that's going to occupy the mid-Atlantic and the northeast states over the next several days. In the meantime, along the Gulf Coast there'll be areas of showers. Coast There'll be areas of showers. The stationary front's extending from much of Texas across in through Alabama, mississippi, coastal Florida and coastal sections of Georgia and South and North Carolina as well as that front will hang up there. However, in the Atlanta area it looks like just minor delays because of the weather. Charlotte also looking at the possibility of some thunderstorms with that frontal system, so that could cause some delays there. South Florida just scattered showers In the Texas area Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth so that could cause some delays there. South Florida just scattered showers In the Texas area, houston and Dallas-Fort Worth both places will have some delays I'd say moderate delays because of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours.

On Sunday Dry weather in the West Coast San Diego all the way up to Portland and Seattle looking like pretty good weather there and, as mentioned, chicago, minneapolis, detroit and much of the nation's pit section is going to have generally good weather there. Northeast corridor will have some delays because of that frontal system on Sunday. But if you're flying this week Monday probably right up through Wednesday or Thursday, it looks like the weather situation central and northern portion of the nation will look quite nice. Looking at the pollen report for your Sunday, you know we've been following ragweed being a big problem from much of the mid-Atlantic northward up through New England westward all the way out to the central and western plain states and it looks like there's no difference there. But because of the rainy conditions in Texas and Louisiana and Gulf Coast looks like a ragweed problem there is going to be a lot less, so you get a little bit of relief along with the scattered showers and some thunderstorms there. West Coast not looking too bad, except for Central and Northern California will be moderate, but the heavy ragweed of course cross through four corners northward up through Wyoming, through the Dakotas, eastward to the Great Lakes right up to Pennsylvania, new York, new Jersey and much of southern New England.

Mondays Looks like the weather's going to be pretty nice, but we'll probably still have that ragweed problem. So we'll have more to say on that in tomorrow's report. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Monday. Take care.
