Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Friday. It is already the 18th day of October. This month is just flying on by In a big area. High pressure is the main feature in the eastern half of the nation and it looks like some showers and heavier rains now moving into West Texas, arizona, new Mexico, utah and Colorado in the Four Corners region, extending all the way up into central and northern Minnesota. That's the frontal system that's going to be slowly, gradually charging eastward, not making a lot of progress though, because this high pressure is a blocking effect and as it moves offshore it's going to be a stronger southwesterly flow and that moisture is going to stay from the central Mississippi River Valley across through the Great Lakes right up through at least the middle portion of this upcoming week. Out on the West Coast, just high pressure across much of California and southern Oregon. However, those frontal systems are working their way into the Pacific Northwest, some more rainy weather coming in for Seattle, tacoma and all the way down to Portland, most likely on Friday, saturday and even maybe a break on Sunday, before the next frontal system arrives early next week. That's in the Pacific Northwest Elsewhere, if you're flying on this Friday it looks like some great weather. Of course it shows on northeast, from DC, baltimore, philly, new York, newark, laguardia, jfk and all the way up to the Boston area. No problems weather-wise there. Atlanta, big hub there Biggest hub in the world, I think and it looks like it's going to have great weather at least on Friday and Saturday and possibly even Sunday as well. Charlotte's doing good, chicago, good weather there. Minneapolis probably having some of that rain.

I mentioned Amarillo, with some rain but dry in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston, also generally dry across much of the Florida Peninsula, except for afternoon thunderstorms in the southern point. And it looks like dry in the Arizona, southwestern Arizona, close to California. It looks like good in San Diego, los Angeles, san Francisco, but rainy weather, as mentioned, in the Pacific Northwest, up in Seattle. So just some slight to moderate delays into those areas, but not into California. It looks like the weather's looking pretty good there. A little bit bumpy though if you're at altitude, going from the east to the west coast Might have some low-level to moderate, middle and high-level turbulence extending from just around the central and eastern Rockies. But on the west coast things should start to at least smooth out.

Once again I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Looks like some great weather for the northeast. It looks like highs near 70 on Friday from DC to Boston up to the mid-70s both Saturday and Sunday and it looks like fair weather for Monday and Tuesday. May touch 80 in many big cities in the east, fall foliage getting to its maximum across the Great Lakes and east up into New England. So some places up to the north has already reached that peak, but in the southern portion, central and southern New York and into Pennsylvania, great foliage. Viewing this upcoming weekend I'm your host, steve Pelletieri. Have a great weekend. We'll talk to you first thing on Saturday.
