Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Tuesday, 22nd day of the month of October 2024. And temperatures yesterday, on Monday, in the northeast, actually in much of the eastern half of the nation, well above normal, between 8 and 10 degrees above normal. A lot of places had the first frost last week Was that chilly morning. Well, that represents the first frost for season and that means any warm-up is typical Indian summer and it looks like this will only continue through today and tomorrow.

By the time we get to Thursday, friday and Saturday some changes will be taking hold. We have a frontal system working its way through the Lake Superior region and upper and northwestern Great Lakes, extending down into the central Plain States. That frontal system will slowly, gradually charge eastward, but basically dry. The very dry weather that's been around the mid-Atlantic and the northeast looks like it'll continue, even though our frontal system will move through, basically dry sometime Wednesday night, early Thursday and then, as we get into the weekend, another frontal system will most likely arrive on Saturday, that's in the northeast. Elsewhere across the nation we see areas of showers, mostly across Central and Western Great Lakes, so the Chicago area is not looking too bad, but up in Minneapolis-St Paul looks like a rainy day, dry conditions up in Seattle and also in Portland, most of California of course under dry conditions and dry weather in Texas and Atlanta and Charlotte and the Central Tennessee Valley, nashville and also Louisville, kentucky. So no problems expected in those places, just some scattered showers and thunderstorms. Off the east coast of Florida, most of the sunshine state, with sunshine during the daytime today and over the next several days as well. So if you're flying it doesn't look like any major problems, except for up in Minneapolis where there could be some rainy weather and a few frontal systems. But dry conditions on the west coast and the East Coast and the Indian summer pattern will continue for a couple more days before we start cooling back over the later portion of Thursday, friday and this upcoming weekend.
