Happy Halloween, and prepare for a weather-wise November ahead!
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieria. I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom. On this last day of October, october 31st 2024, halloween Thursday, and it looks like our weather situation is going to be mild in the east, showers are moving into the Great Lakes and some cold weather moving down there, fair but chilly conditions down through the Dakotas and the northern plains and it looks like more rain for the Pacific Northwest. We like Florida to generally be on the dry side, except for some scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. Dry weather in Atlanta, so no problems flying in and out of there. Or Charlotte, new York, newark, laguardia, jfk all looking pretty good, as does Boston. Down in Texas looks like Houston still having those showers and thunderstorms and some flight delays into New Orleans and sections of Austin and even into the Houston area, Southern portions of Arkansas as well under some heavy thunderstorms, as will be Nashville and into much of Kentucky and Ohio as that cold front gradually drifts eastward. The Dallas-Fort Worth area looks like the weather is improving there. Also. Nice weather in LA and San Francisco looks like increasing clouds, some showers are likely there and showers and some rainy weather for Portland and Seattle. Much of the Pacific Northwest, as mentioned, with rainy weather at least through later today, tonight and tomorrow.
Speaker 0:We start November off with hopeful for some rainfall. Looking at the rainfall amounts in New York City one hundredth of an inch at Central Park, that's all they received. Similar situations at Newark, philadelphia, also at LaGuardia and JFK, all showing very low amounts of rainfall. It's very dry across the Northeast and it's been dry since early September, so we're hoping for some rains to be moving into the region In the meantime. For the Northeast Carter, great weather for today 75 to 80, with sunshine, maybe some showers. Much needed rainfall overnight tonight or tomorrow, but it only looks like sprinkles or showers. Then a clearing trend. High pressure starts to build in. Fair weather, still in the 70s on Friday, first day in November, well above normal, but then back to near normal as we head towards Saturday and Sunday Again. On Saturday we'll return to Eastern Standard Time. Set your clocks back an hour before retiring on Saturday evening. I'm your watcher, steve Pelletier, and I'm the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today, happy Halloween and talk to your first thing on the first day of November. Take care.
