Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Wednesday. It's the 13th day of the month of November, already Quickly getting to the halfway mark, and it's been dry across the Northeast. There was a little bit of rain earlier this week and it could be a few light showers sometime, either on Thursday night or early Friday, but then it looks like another dry patch that will continue through this upcoming weekend from DC up to the Boston area. But there are some places that we are watching for some development of some late season, either tropical storms or tropical development that will be across the Gulf of Mexico and then heading up towards the western panhandle of Florida and then into northern Florida and in off the coast of the Carolinas, and that would probably occur sometime this weekend or early next week. But it's still a little too early to tell. I haven't really seen anything develop just yet, but there is quite a bit of weather action across the southern states over the next several days. The projects right now show an area of low pressure that's over the central Gulf of Mexico, extending to a surface low that'll keep the rain into eastern sections of Louisiana, over Mississippi and Alabama and then into northwestern Georgia sometime during the latter portion of Wednesday into Wednesday night, and eventually that frontal system that is attendant from that low northward up to a front just over the southern Great Lakes will be arriving in the east but drying out by the time it gets into this area. It just seems like every time some moisture gets close to the east tends to go drying out because of the persistent northwesterly flow aloft. It's a drying type of weather flow, and that looks like it will continue right through the weekend. Although across the Tennessee Valley and into the Carolinas and even Georgia and northern Florida will get some rainfall over the next 24 to 36 hours On the west coast, those storms continue to move into the Pacific Northwest, causing snow across the mountains and rain across the coast from Seattle, tacoma southward to Portland and even into northern sections of California, and even some much-needed rainfall into the San Francisco Bay Area. It's not going, however, into the southern portion of the state. La and San Diego are looking basically dry, except for a frontal system moving through that might provide a few showers sometime on Thursday. In the meantime, though, the Pacific Northwest will continue to get those series of low-pressure systems until storms move eastward and die out before they reach the eastern seaboard.
Speaker 1:If you're flying on this Wednesday, look for fair weather across New England as the high pressure is centered just over the Canadian Maritimes. Dry conditions from DC, philadelphia, new York City and up to the Boston area, so no problems there. There'll be some light rain showers moving into the Charlotte area and rainy conditions and possibly some low to severe, maybe some slight delays into Atlanta because of that storm brewing out of the Gulf and heading towards the east. Scattered showers and thunderstorms over the southern portion of Florida, but nothing major. So even at Fort Myers up to Tampa, down to Miami and Fort Lauderdale and West Palm, you're looking at some decent conditions into those places if you are flying down there over the next couple of days. Dallas-fort Worth and Houston looking pretty good, although a frontal system is moving through Houston during the latter portion of today that could cause some light turbulence and also the possibility of some rain. But over to the west coast, as mentioned, it's dry in San Diego and LA. No problems there. Rainy conditions in San Francisco with light delays light to moderate delays up in the Seattle area because of those storms moving in from the Pacific Northwest.
Speaker 1:Weather forecast for the Northeast Carter. Sunshine today, highs in the upper 40s lower 50s. At night it'll be clearing, chilly down to near 30 in many spots and sunshine giving way to clouds in those showers from that storm Moving into the DC, baltimore and Philly area, but probably dry and just cloud cover late in the day in New York, north up to the Boston area, with temperatures on Thursday ranging close to 50. By Friday back to sunshine, also about the upper 40s and lower 50s. It'll warm up this weekend with high pressure, reestablishing a foothold from DC to Boston and looking at highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s, nighttime lows in the 30s this weekend. Don't forget, we're going to have that outlook for the winter coming up on this friday, and this friday, the 15th of november, so please check in then and get some insight and some ideas of what's going on weather-wise for the upcoming season. In the meantime, hope you have a great wednesday. Talk to your first thing tomorrow, take care.
