Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman.
Speaker 1:Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Sunday. It is the 17th day of the month of November, Going quickly as I keep saying. That big area high pressure up along the eastern seaboard extends from New England all the way down into coastal Georgia and northern Florida. There's a frontal system causing rain across much of central and north Texas, extending into Oklahoma, eastern Kansas, central portions of Missouri and then crossing up through the central Great Lakes just to the west of Chicago during the daytime on Sunday. In the meantime, another area of low pressure has moved into the Pacific Northwest as causing rain in Oregon, Washington, northern and central portions of Utah, where there's some snow in the mountains and snow in the mountains of western Montana and also northwestern Wyoming. San Francisco is finally getting some rainfall and it looks like that'll be on and off throughout the daytime today into tonight. Then a little improvement before the next frontal system arrives sometime this upcoming week.
Speaker 1:If you're flying on this Sunday, weather looks good in the eastern seaboard from Nashville down to Atlanta, Charlotte DC up to Newark, New York and Boston. No problems there. No problems in Central and South Florida, Tampa, St Pete and all the way down to Miami, Fort Lauderdale looking very good. A few showers are possible in Houston but heavier thunderstorms and possibly some locally severe weather could slow things down into the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Fair to partly cloudy and a few showers in Chicago. Dry in LA but rain in San Francisco, as mentioned, and rain in Seattle-Tacoma as well. But the situation for the Northeast, Carter, for your Sunday, a sunny day 60 to 65. Normal highs should be into the 50s, so we're going to be a little bit above that today, Also into the mid-60s. On Monday, another sunny, dry day, as the dry weather continues across the Northeast. That frontal system arriving around midweek could bring us a few showers either by later Tuesday or Wednesday, but it does look like for the most part dry conditions right up through midweek of this upcoming week.
Speaker 1:I'm meteorologist, Steve Pelletierian, I'm the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Don't forget to check on I think it's Friday's weather report. We have on Friday, the extended forecast for this upcoming winter and why we come up with the numbers that we do 25 chance of less than 20 inches of snow in the northeast and on average, I would have to use norc new york philly as an average for where we're forecasting for, and the greatest probability is somewhere between 20 and 45 inches. It's about a 50% probability and a 25% probability of above 45 inches. So that means 75% more than 20 inches for this upcoming winter. Because of climatology and matching up what we've seen in the past and projecting it into the future, that's all we can do In the meantime. Have yourself a great Sunday. Talk to you first thing next week. Take care.
