Speaker 1:

Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Saturday. It is the 23rd day of the month of November 2024. And after some very cold, chilly conditions across the Northeast, it gave much needed rainfall both Thursday and Friday. There was even snow across the Poconos of New York and also northeastern Pennsylvania, the Catskills of New York and the Poconos of Pennsylvania, the Berkshires up in Massachusetts and the southern portions of Vermont and New Hampshire. There was areas of some snow Also across the Finger Lakes and many of those places between 5 and 10 inches of wet snow fell, the first snow of the season 2024-25.

Speaker 1:

That high pressure system is now building in as the low pressure that caused all this wild weather is now finally moving off the New England coast and it looks like some pretty good weather will be moving in from the Great Lakes southward through the Gulf Coast eastward to the Carolinas and southern Florida, texas, also looking dry, dry also into the western Plain States. But another big area of low pressure is causing rain along the Washington, oregon and California coast all the way down to LA and San Diego and heavy snows across the mountains of eastern Washington, oregon, idaho, northern portions of, actually the northeastern portion of Nevada, northern Utah around Salt Lake and also over northwestern Wyoming, those heavy snow between one and two feet and heavy snowfall from the big area of low pressure moving in from the Pacific Northwest. If you're traveling on this Saturday looks like good weather in Atlanta and Miami. Also in Texas, both places Houston, dallas, even up in Amarillo westward at El Paso the weather's looking pretty good. Chicago's looking dry, as does Minneapolis-St Paul. New Orleans is also looking at fair weather, nashville a sunny day, highs in the 50s West Coast. Looks like some rainy weather in LA so there could be some delays into there. Not used to some weather delays in LA and also up in San Francisco some heavier rains moving in from the Pacific. Heavy rains also in Seattle, tacoma and Portland. Will add two airline delays into those places, causing also some high-level turbulence flying across to eastern Asia over the next 24 to 36 hours.

Speaker 1:

Weather across the Northeast Carter calling for sunshine on Saturday, with high temperatures expected to range in the upper 40s and lower 50s, warming up on Sunday into the mid-50s and into the mid to upper 50s expected for Monday. But by Tuesday of this upcoming week another area of low pressure, although a weaker one, will bring us some rain showers in the northeast and then eventually some dry weather for the midweek, with another storm possibly affecting the eastern seaboard either on Wednesday evening or on Thanksgiving Day. We'll have more to say on that as we continue through the weekend. I'm Steve Felitieri. Have yourself a great Saturday. Talk to you first thing tomorrow. Take care.
