Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletierian and I'm the Weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom. On this Sunday, 24th day of the month of November 2024, and it's the big week for travelers. I hear this is the week that a lot of folks will travel from here to there and back again. And well, taking a look at aviation travel as far as the weather is concerned, we see that it's pretty good conditions for this sunday across the new york, philadelphia, dc baltimore, richmond, all the way down to charlotte. Also good weather in atlanta, no problems. In south florida, miami, fort lauderdale, west palm. Also up at fort myers and tampa, st pete, houston, dallas, fort worth no problems weather-wise there. Now into the chicago area, not really looking at terrifically bad weather, but there will be some occasional rain and showers. So IFR conditions in there may be a little bit of a slowdown into the Chicago area airports. Also, looking at the possibility of some rain and snow up around Minneapolis-St Paul, so a little bit of delays into there are expected for at least later Sunday into Monday. West Coast finally showing some rain close to the LA Basin and all the way up towards San Francisco and into Portland and Seattle. Of course is causing snow in the mountains but along the coast. You will have IFR and rainy conditions in Seattle and Portland on Sunday, sunday night into early Monday and also into central and northern California as well. So some delays there, but nothing major. Nothing major weather-wise, at least on Sunday.

Going to take a quick look into Monday in the afternoon weather-wise, and we'll have an approaching frontal system. Still not too bad of a weather situation for New York, atlanta or out in Texas. The Chicago area is going to be clearing out, clearing out also in Minneapolis. It's out on the west coast. If you're traveling back and forth from LA or from San Francisco, seattle, you're probably going to have some delays because of the weather there as those big storms continue to move in from the Pacific Northwest. That's on Monday.

Speaker 0:

But no problems in Atlanta, although that frontal system will be arriving during the evening. There could be some rain overnight but it looks like it clears out for Tuesday. Now, on Tuesday we are expecting our weather situation to be fairly good. The frontal system moves offshore. It'll be a little bit of light shower action early, but then northwesterly flow and so good weather, although turbulent. You're flying in and out of New York, newark, laguardia, jfk or even up in the Boston area. Possibly some low-level turbulence might make the ride a little bit like a roller coaster, but rest assured you'll get in there, maybe with some wind delays because of changing runways. Also, looking at good weather in Atlanta, down in Central and South Florida, texas no problems there. Chicago might have a little bit of snow.

Speaker 0:

Looks like some snowy weather That'll be on Tuesday and Tuesday night. West Coast rainy conditions from San Francisco all the way down to LA and maybe even into San Diego, and snow across the mountains in central and northern Utah, northern sections of Nevada, southern Idaho into Wyoming and Colorado, so into Denver. There will be extensive delays, probably sometime in the morning hours of the 27th and that means Wednesday morning. By Thursday, however, thanksgiving Day, I hope everybody's in one place, but there could be a storm causing some rain in the eastern seaboard. But if you're staying close to home, no problems there.

Speaker 0:

Weather-wise it's for the go-home. Maybe on the 29th or the 30th we are looking at a frontal system moving offshore. That front that brings the rainy conditions on Thursday, thanksgiving Day, and early Friday does start to clear out. So we'll have some decent conditions for traveling, although bumpy and very turbulent, around Boston, new York, newark, also Philly and Baltimore, a little bit less so in DC, but it looks like Atlanta will be okay. Windy conditions, most of the snow showers east in Chicago and this will be on Friday of this week Still looking at. A little bit of rain in LA and San Francisco and also another rainy situation for the Pacific Northwest, so really not too bad weather-wise coming up for this week. For the northeast corner, the weather on Sunday is just going to be partly sunny, with highs near 50. Monday mid-50s fair weather Could be some early showers on Tuesday and then Wednesday looks like dry conditions and then possibly some rainy weather for Thanksgiving Day. From DC up to the Boston area on Thursday.

Talk to you first thing on Monday. Take care.
