Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieria and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Thursday, 12th day of the 12th month of 2024. Looking at high pressure now building into much of the central and eastern portion of the nation, causing lake effects to no squalls across the eastern shores of Lake Superior, lake Michigan, huron and, of course, sections of the east and northeastern portion of Lake Erie and Ontario too. No difference there, especially in the eastern sections of Lake Ontario where they've been getting tremendous amounts of snow from these last outbreaks of strong northwest wind. Eventually, hopefully, the lakes will be freezing and when that happens a lot of the lake-affected snow squalls there will end, happens a lot of the lake effect snow squalls there will end. But until that point, probably into about at least middle january, we are looking at snowfall and snow squalls in those regions.

In the east, though, generally high pressure is now building in. It's going to be dry conditions from boston all the way to dc, all the way down to atlanta and even into central and northern florida. Southern florida might have a few scattered showers, so no problems weather-wise into Atlanta or Charlotte and into Texas. Houston, dallas, fort Worth all looking pretty good. Chicago a bit windy but generally dry weather there and dry but cold up across Minneapolis, st Paul, it's out.

On the West Coast, another area of low pressure is moving into the Pacific Northwest and that's bringing from rain from San Francisco northward all the way up through Portland and into Seattle, even into LA. There'll be clouds and a threat of some rain during the daytime on Thursday, even into early Friday. Elsewhere it just does look like we're going to have fair and dry but colder conditions for today, on Thursday, friday into Saturday, but then an increase in clouds with the high pressure finally moving offshore on Sunday and at that point temperatures will be warmer and there is the possibility of another rainstorm in the east sometime early next week. I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletierian, I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day. Today it's going to be blustery and cold in the northeast, however, elsewhere it's just fair, a little bit cooler than it should be for this time of year. Have a great day. Talk to you first thing.
