Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom. On this 14th day of December, we're almost halfway through the month already 2024. Big area high pressure national across central and northern New York State, new England, vermont, new Hampshire. That's the high that's going to keep us into a little bit more of an easterly flow. In the meantime, low pressure systems arriving from central Missouri. It contains a lot of ice across sections of Wisconsin, in Minnesota, north and eastern sections of Iowa and even the UP of Michigan, but rainy conditions in the central Mississippi River Valley all the way down to the Gulf Coast. That rain will be moving east during the latter portion of Sunday into Monday and Tuesday. Looks like we've got some very active weather coming up. Monday and Tuesday low pressure will bring rainy conditions to the east and northeast and then a little bit of a dry pattern, big storms moving into the Pacific Northwest. They'll diminish across the mountains, reform, east of the Mississippi River Valley, east of the Appalachians, and possibly may have a fairly large storm towards the end of this week and also towards sometime next week. We see at least a couple of occurrences of these developing low pressure systems along the eastern seaboard.
Speaker 0:If you're traveling on this Saturday. It looks like the weather is fairly good into Atlanta and Charlotte. No problems there, of course. New York City, laguardia, philadelphia, baltimore and DC all looking good, as does Boston, and in Chicago it's just going to be overcast and rain. It'll be IFR conditions there, so there will be slow going into the Chicago area, probably maybe one or two hour delays. Similar situation up in Minneapolis-St Paul, with the possibility of some ice. There may even be some cancellations because of that type of very bad aviation weather. Looking at the weather situation in Texas rainy conditions in Houston just touching into Dallas-Fort Worth, but most of it all drifting eastward. West Coast is showing dry conditions in San Diego but rainy weather with a cold front arriving in LA. It looks like more showers in San Francisco but heavy rains in Seattle and Tacoma and heavy snows across the central and eastern mountains of Oregon and Washington over central and northern Idaho, western Montana and Wyoming Expected for Saturday night and Sunday.
Speaker 0:But weather for the Northeast corridor, a dry day for Saturday, as temperatures only range between 33 and 38. It'll be clear skies at night, moonlit skies I might add, with nighttime lows down into the 20s. Then that increase in clouds on Sunday brings rain on Sunday night May start as a little icy mix, especially across New York State and much of New England, then over to a rainy weather pattern for later Monday. By Tuesday temperatures will reach to near 60. A little dry weather for Wednesday and Thursday before the next series of storms start to develop towards the end of this upcoming work week. I'm meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Sunday. Take care.
