Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Monday. It is the 23rd day of the month of December, big travel day across the US. We see fair conditions across the eastern seaboard, across into the Great Lakes, at least to the southern Great Lakes. We do see some areas of snow across Wisconsin and ice there. Also some ice and rainy conditions across the UP of Michigan and even in sections of Minnesota some icy conditions. So into those places might be a bit slick, maybe some delays into either Madison and into the Minneapolis-St Paul area. Also looking at generally dry conditions on the southwest flow for Chicago, no problems there. Nebraska, omaha looking good. All the way down to the Gulf Coast good weather in the Houston, dallas-fort Worth, new Orleans, nashville, even Jacksonville and also Charlotte. Atlanta also looking good. Big Cub Airport for much of the nation At Atlanta, no problems weather-wise there. Even South Florida looking pretty good, even down to the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area. Just some isolated showers offshore but really no problems weather-wise. No problems weather-wise on the West Coast, at least for LA, san Diego, san Francisco still under rainy conditions. Not major delays into there but there could be some slowdowns because of the weather and of course the weather's still a big factor in Portland and into Seattle, tacoma, from those storms moving in from the North Pacific.

Weather for the Northeast Carter on this Monday, looking at generally fair conditions but very cold weather. Some of the temperatures this morning were down into the single digits and this is going to keep our temperatures for the month of December from DC up to the Boston area below normal by about 2 degrees. Precipitation was above normal. Thankfully. It had been very dry in October and November and now into December we at least had normal amounts, slightly above normal amounts of rainfall and precipitation, which also included some of the first snows that we've seen. On the first day of winter in New York City and even in Philadelphia there was a few snow flurries, but also up in the Boston area some light snow. It looks like mainly the area came down from the northwest and affected central and northern New Jersey, northeastern PA, new York City and Long Island. To the south it was just traces, to the north also just lighter amounts, and that is what we're left with. So a little white Christmas is expected to happen here.

We're also expecting a little area of moisture, that area that we see across the Great Lakes. Well, it's coming down into this wall of very cold air and that's going to cause a little light snow in the pre-dawn hours on Tuesday. But highs on Monday up to 25 to 30. Nighttime low temperatures with the possibility of some snow showers down to about 21. Rain and snow showers then a clearing trend expected for the daytime in the afternoon on Tuesday and for Christmas Day. Looking at fair conditions as well mostly sunny. Inner high temperatures generally back into the mid-30s, just about where they ought to be for this time of year. I'm meteorologist Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day on your Monday. Talk to you first thing tomorrow. Take care.
