Weekend Weather Watch: Rain, Fog, and Snow Across the U.S
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieria and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Saturday. It is the 28th day of the month of December in 2024 and it looks like rainy weather in most of the central and eastern portion of the US for your Saturday and Sunday and gradually milder conditions too. New York area, from DC actually up to the Boston area, will be overcast, with occasional rain, drizzle and fog today as our temperatures range into the mid 40s, closer to 50 down in dc, only near 40 up in the boston area. But it looks like rain, drizzle and fog tonight as temperatures hold steady, generally ranging 40 to 45. Temperatures even warmer into the lower 60s, well above normal on sunday. Occasional rain and drizzle likely into the evening hours and that may be a leftover shower early on monday with any clearing trend becoming partly sunny 50, 50 to 55. So the above normal temperatures continue for the last couple of days of this month and the last couple of days of this year New Year's Eve day during the daytime and increasing clouds and rain late day and evening, with our highs generally up to about 53. It looks like it will start to turn a little bit colder towards the middle portion of the week and then towards the end of the week, with a strong cold front moving through, we'll have generally fair but chilly conditions for the first weekend of 2025.
Speaker 0:Next weekend, if you're traveling on this, saturday looks like overcast and wet weather in Atlanta and also in Charleston and it's in the Charlotte area as well. We're looking at periods of rain, drizzle and fog, so there will be some moderate to moderate delays because of wet weather in those places. Also, rain in New York LaGuardia, jfk and some in the DC area as well. Boston some light showers, but it looks like the heavier rain will be arriving later in the day. Central and South Florida just some scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. No major delays there.
Speaker 0:Some improving conditions in Houston and Dallas and Chicago's also looking dry, as does much of the central and northern plain states, but there's lots of snow across western Montana, sections of Wyoming and Idaho and some northern portions of Utah, especially across the mountains, as another storm moves into the Pacific Northwest. Dry in LA, but it looks like some showers for San Francisco and rainy weather for Seattle-Tacoma on Saturday and Sunday. I'm your moderator, steve Filatier, and rainy weather for Seattle-Tacoma on Saturday and Sunday. I'm your moderator, steve Pelletier, and I'm the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Sunday. Take care.
