Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Saturday. It's the 18th day of January 2025 and big changes coming across the nation. At this point, eastern seaboard still under a little bit of a milder flow for just today, we do see a frontal system, a strong arctic front that's expected to move through the Ohio Valley, the Tennessee Valley, during the middle afternoon hours today and by this evening most likely be aligned just over central Pennsylvania up to central New York State and then down in through, probably right past the Louisiana, alabama and also into Colorado and even north Texas, around Amarillo across into New Mexico. This is going to set the stage for a sharply colder weather flow for around the mid-Atlantic and northeast over Monday, tuesday and Wednesday. That's why the inauguration is being moved indoors. Tuesday and Wednesday. That's why the inauguration is being moved indoors.

There is going to be a secondary area of low pressure that's going to form along that frontal system as it moves through the northeast and quite possibly give areas of snow from DC up to Philadelphia, new York City and even into the Boston area. The amounts at this point look anywhere between two and as much as six inches of snow, depending upon where you are, and that's going to be later Sunday and Sunday night. Then that high pressure starts to build in. It looks like it's going to give a fair but cold weather in the 20s on Monday and in the teens to near 20 Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday of this upcoming week. From DC up to the Boston area If you're flying on this Saturday there's going to be some delays into northern Georgia, atlanta, also the Charlotte area by later in the afternoon and this evening we'll have some scattered showers, no major problems. In the Newark area there will be a few rain showers and again during the daytime on Saturday, not bad, but Sunday afternoon, sunday evening, there will be extensive delays in the Mid-Atlantic and northeast because of that snow that I mentioned.

Texas is just going to get cold but it's dry there. Houston, dallas, all the way up to Amarillo. Amarillo will have some snow showers. Chicago, just very, very cold and generally dry, so no problems there. Minneapolis, st Paul, showing the possibility of some snow showers, but just bitter cold, single digits minus figures expected for later Saturday, sunday and Monday. West Coast showing dry conditions from LA up to San Francisco, all the way up to Portland and into the Washington area. The stationary front is taking hold right along the coast of Washington and Oregon, all the way down into the eastern portion of California and southern Arizona and New Mexico. I'm meteorologist Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. We'll be talking about that winter storm on Sunday and we'll have that update for you first thing right around midnight, 1 am on Sunday morning, and maybe some updates too on Sunday afternoon as that storm takes shape. I'm Steve Pelletier. Have yourself a great day. No-transcript.
