Decoding January's Weather: Storms, Snow, and Sunshine Predictions with Meteorologist Steve Pellettiere
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Thursday 23rd day of the month of January. This month, quickly going by, as one that's been across the northeast since the big storm last Sunday, looks like we are going to be generally dry for a good balance of the day today. In many places we do see a frontal system working its way through the central and eastern Great Lakes. There's some snow showers associated with that front, but basically it's going to dry out by the time it reaches DC and the New York-Boston area, but there could be a few snow flurries off to the west and northwest. That'll be sometime during the overnight Thursday into Friday. Then a weather situation for Friday it looks like we're going to have still below normal temperatures, but not as below. As a matter of fact, fair weather starts to develop and it should be with us right through the weekend, although temperatures will even start to warm from the mid-Atlantic to the northeastern states, and that will be on Sunday and Monday of this weekend and early next week.
Speaker 1:If you're flying on this Thursday, it looks like fair weather in New York, boston, dc and Philadelphia. No problems down in Atlanta, charlotte, but there are some showers and isolated thunderstorms just to the south from South Florida, south of Okeechobee, but out in Texas it looks dry from Houston to Dallas, amarillo and El Paso. The it looks dry from Houston to Dallas, amarillo and El Paso, a Chicago area also a clearing trend, with most of the snow showers there. We'll be moving towards the east and away, but fair and cold. Up in Minnesota the snow is across Montana and it's raining across the Pacific Northwest and Seattle, but dry conditions in Portland and going south of San Francisco, la and San Diego all continue.
Speaker 1:There are dry trends so far this January, once again for the Northeast corridor it looks like we're going to have a little bit of cloud cover to start, but then fair weather today, as our high temperatures still range only to near 20, but it will be warming up close to 30 on Friday or into the 30s on Saturday and Sunday of this upcoming weekend. I'm meteorologist Steve Pelletier, I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on.
