Weekend Weather Forecast: Clear Skies in the Northeast and Rainy West Coast
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Saturday. It's the first day of February 2025 and it looks like after some rainy weather in the mid-Atlantic and northeast during the daytime on Friday, we get into some improving conditions for today. As a matter of fact, we're anticipating that our skies will gradually clear from DC up to the Boston area and temperatures for the most part not too bad Mid to upper 30s it's pretty close to normal for this time of year and then it gets cold. Tonight A little shot of some cold air down into the upper teens and lower 20s around the region With a good deal of cloud cover. Tomorrow we have a warm front arriving later in the day and at night With that warm front could be some rain or snow showers from maybe Philly up to New York and maybe into the Boston area, but nothing to look like anything much. Then a mild day for Monday as we get temperatures into the lower 50s, cooling back into the mid-40s on Tuesday of this upcoming week If you are traveling on this Saturday, a big area of high pressure across the eastern Great Lakes will give fair weather from New England all the way down to the mid-Atlantic states.
Speaker 1:So no problems in New York, newark, boston and even in the Chicago area the weather's looking pretty good. But you have a St Paul. Looks like some snow arriving there because of an area of low pressure out of the Dakotas, so they could get several inches of snow in Minneapolis. So there will be delays going into Minneapolis during the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday. Dry weather in Atlanta relatively dry. Central and south Florida There'll be some scattered showers offshore. No problems in Texas, houston and Dallas Weather's looking pretty good, as does St Louis, west coast some rainy weather moving into San Francisco and all the way up to Portland and in Seattle it's causing snow across the mountains of Utah, wyoming sections of Idaho and western Montana. In the LA basin basin looks like they will get into clouds and the possibility of some rainy weather arriving either Saturday night or on Sunday. But no major delays into the LA or San Diego area for your Saturday.
Speaker 1:Once again, for today, though, we are looking for an improving trend. For the northeast and New York City, look for high temperatures up around 37. Cold tonight, down near 20. And in the 30s tomorrow, with a little bit of cloud cover in the 50s expected for Monday as we start off the first few days of this new month of February. I've been your Roger Steve Pelletierian. I'm the Weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Sunday, groundhog's Day, tomorrow.
