Weekend Weather Briefing: Navigating Storms and Sunshine Across the U.S
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into the weathermanpodcom on this Saturday. It is the eighth day of the month of February 2025 and a look at our weather situation shows another storm arriving in the east and looks like another storm also across essentially northern plain states. That will eventually arrive in the east, but looks like that won't be occurring until the latter portion of the weekend and early next week. In the meantime, for the northeast corridor, it looks like an increase in clouds for this Saturday and the possibility of some snow developing later afternoon and evening. From DC up to the Philadelphia area, probably a brief period of snow over to some sleet and freezing rain, then rain, and then from New York City northward it looks like maybe one to two inches of slushy accumulation, except for the central and northern Hudson Valley where there will be a lot of snowfall, maybe up to as much as eight inches. And this quick-moving storm that will move in late in the day and move out early in the morning hours on Sunday and Sunday looks to be turning out to be a mostly sunny day. Its high temperatures range close to 40, also sunshine for the northeast on Tuesday, monday and Tuesday as well. Tuesday there will be an increase in clouds but looks like the possibility of some snow late day or evening. We'll have more to say on that as we head through the weekend. In the meantime, fast-moving storm moving in for Saturday evening, early Sunday.
Speaker 1:If you are traveling on this Saturday, it looks like we will have some mixed precipitation in the latter portion of the day and in the evening from Philadelphia, new York City and up to the Boston area. Further south looks like some rain in DC, richmond, all the way down into Raleigh and central North Carolina. Our frontal system will be moving gradually to the east in a big area of high pressure spilling down into the Plain States. So it looks like dry weather for Chicago. Looks like rain showers for Atlanta, but nothing major. Looks like dry conditions for Chicago.
Speaker 1:Looks like rain showers for Atlanta, but nothing major. Looks like dry conditions for Central and South Florida. Also into Texas dry but some patchy, dense fog and low-level cloud cover in Houston up to Dallas-Fort Worth and on the West Coast. Looks like dry weather for Los Angeles, san Diego and San Francisco. Another storm moving into the Pacific Northwest with high pressure off into the Pacific That'll be moving in by Sunday and Monday. So pretty good weather expected for much of the West Coast, except for Portland and Seattle, where there will be some rain. I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Sunday. Take care.
