Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Saturday. It's the 15th day, the middle of the month of February Actually it's the eyes of February, but the month only has 28 days. So we're well on our way to the second half and we've got another storm in the central and eastern portion of the nation. It's causing snow across the Great Lakes secondary area of upper level low pressures moving on to the Dakotas and eastern Montana and Wyoming is giving him lots of snow and most of the snow across much of central and northern Michigan, southern Michigan under ice, but it looks like rainy conditions across the Tennessee Valley and all the way down to the Gulf Coast where some locally severe weather is a possibility in east Texas, louisiana, arkansas, mississippi and Alabama as that next frontal system and low pressure intensifies and moves towards the northeast. So if you're flying today, it looks like we've got a tough go all the way around, except for on the west coast. Looks like Charlotte area will be rain, ifr and rain in Atlanta, central and South Florida looking pretty good, but there is showers in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth. Some locally severe weather will also slow things down in St Louis and in Nashville and in Chicago it looks like rain, sleet and snow a little bit of everything there and that's going to cause between one and two-hour delays into the Chicago area. The West Coast looks like LA, san Diego and San Francisco doing fine, but back to rainy conditions with another storm moving into the Pacific. Northwest. Rain in Portland and Seattle expected to continue right in through Sunday.

Here's the weather for the Northeast corridor, that is, from DC up to the Boston area, including most of New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and New York City. Looks like we have some winter weather advisories across northwestern New Jersey, northeastern Pennsylvania and the Caskills of New York. That's because we'll have an area of snow maybe one to three inches of snowfall in those places, but it looks like it very quickly goes over to sleet and freezing rain during the evening hours on Saturday. So snow will probably form sometime around one to four o'clock and then the snow will change over to sleet, freezing rain, then rain during the evening and overnight Saturday into Sunday. And rain on Sunday will be heavy at times in the early going, but then a little bit of a lighter rain during the afternoon. We're expecting temperatures to really warm up nicely by Sunday and back to colder weather for early next week. So this rock and roll and back and forth type of weather situation looks like it'll continue through the next couple of days. So our temperatures on Saturday only ranging into the mid-30s, with that snow expected in the afternoon maybe a colding to an inch or two in some places, more, of course, in the north and western, the high elevations where it typically occurs. But it looks like that rainy weather overnight. Temperatures will continue to rise Saturday night to Sunday into the mid to upper 30s and it'll be in the 40s and lower 50s on Sunday with the rain as mentioned. Heavier rain will be in the early going but should taper off to showers in the afternoon and evening hours.
