Weather Insights for Travelers with top 12 busiest airports in the world with Steve Pellettiere
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Monday. It's the third day of the third month of 2025 and we're looking at a weather situation across the northeast corner that has turned cold during the daytime on Sunday, highs only in the middle 30s and with those gusty northwest winds, the wind chills are making it feel like the teens in single digits. But it's improved as the winds have died down and it looks like the weather is going to be fair and a little bit milder today. However, it's going to get a lot milder as we head towards Tuesday and it looks like a stormy condition heading our way for Wednesday of this week.
Speaker 1:First, I'd like to talk about the airline hubs. We talk about the airline hubs across the nation. They give that little spiel about what's going to happen at the specific places in the country, and I usually start with Atlanta. Good reason for that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is ranked one Total passengers in 2024, 108 million 108 million people pass in and out of that airport each and every year in the whole world. That's number one. Number two is Dubai International Airport. That's, of course, because of Emirates, who has that as the hub. There you fly into London, to Emirates and to Dubai and then you can go anywhere else in the world. Dallas-fort Worth is number three, so we always mention that. Tokyo is number four. Heathrow in London, number five. Denver International Airport number six. Istanbul Airport number seven. The Dharagandhi International Airport in India is number eight. Shanghai Pudong International Airport in Shanghai is number nine and number 10 is Los Angeles International Airport, and we'll go down to 12. At 11 is Gansu Bayung International Airport, and we'll go down to 12. 11 is Gansu Bayeung International Airport in China and O'Hare International, number 12, in Chicago. And that's why we mentioned the area airports in the United States, especially in Atlanta at first, charlotte, second, of course, out to Denver and Dallas-Fort Worth and of course the New York area airports. If you combine all the area airports Newark, laguardia, jfk you've got a lot of folks going to those places each and every day and of course Chicago, west Coast, los Angeles and up in Seattle as well.
Speaker 1:Let's get on to the weather First, for the Northeast Cardinal. Again, I mentioned that weather is good. It's going to be on a cold side but a little bit warmer today, with plenty of sunshine. From DC up to the Boston area, looking for highest range 40 to 45. Dc, 40, new York, about 35 to 40 up in the Boston area. By Tuesday everybody goes into the 50s and even warmer, but there'll be an increase in clouds. It looks like some much needed rainy weather coming our way all across the mid-Atlantic and the northeast for Wednesday into early Thursday. Then some sharply colder weather arrives towards the end of this week.
Speaker 1:If you're traveling, as mentioned on this Monday, we do have still some pretty good weather down in Atlanta and it's going to be fair skies there for today and for a good portion of tomorrow. Charlotte's looking good, new York area airports all looking good there, boston and out in Chicago. Although there were some showers in the earlier going, it looks like that should clear out in a strong southerly wind and also a very mild flow going into the Chicago area. Overcast in Minneapolis, st Paul, houston is showing the possibility of some rain and showers, as does Dallas-Fort Worth, but no major situations. Not looking at any severe weather in the Dallas-Fort Worth area Looks like snow around four quarters.
Speaker 1:That extends up to central and western sections of Colorado, wyoming and all the way up into central and northern Idaho, western Montana. So a lot of snow from that big area of low pressure that's going to bring rain to the east. Dry weather in San Diego and LA. San Francisco also looking pretty good, back to rainy conditions for Portland and Seattle. So good weather expecting the eastern seaboard, but that will change as we head towards later Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Tuesday. Take care.
