Weather Whirlwind: Tornado, Rain, and Snow Across America
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletierian. I am the weatherman, and welcome to theweathermanpodcom on your Tuesday. It is the fourth day in the month of March 2025 and we've got lots of weather across the nation. Looks like some very snowy conditions across the central and northern plain states from a developing storm that's going to bring rain to the east in the mid-Atlantic and to the northeast, but across the central and great plain states there could be some blizzard warnings in fact, for a good portion of the afternoon and evening hours today. In the meantime, that storm will track across the central Mississippi River Valley and arrive probably right around from about Norfolk, Newport News, Northward to New York City and up to the Boston area, with rain during the daytime on Wednesday and Wednesday night. Then we get into an improving flow of clearing for Thursday and Friday of this week. In the meantime, our weather situation for the Northeast card are calling for partly sunny days today, as our temperatures reach the mid-50s Tonight, an increase in clouds, nighttime low temperatures back to about 40 to 45, and it looks like rainy weather and warm-up showers and some thunderstorms and gusty south winds during the daytime on Wednesday. Wednesday's high temperatures 55 to 60, about 62 in DC, Philadelphia at 60 and New York City 58, 60 degrees. By that, rainy weather in the mid-50s up in Boston, but again rainy weather throughout. Showers and thunderstorms end tomorrow evening. Wednesday evening That'll be the cold front moving through. Then clouds and sun in the 50s on Thursday, turning cooler, gradually cooler. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. As we enter into this upcoming weekend in March, when we turn the clocks we spring ahead one hour ahead. Before retiring this upcoming Saturday evening, we return to eastern daylight time 2 am on Sunday.
Speaker 0:If you're traveling by air on this Tuesday, here's the weather situation Much of the time in. Here's the weather situation Much of the time in Atlanta. The weather's going to be okay, but by later in the day and at night rain will be moving in. So if you're traveling early into Atlanta or midday it doesn't look like any problems, but there probably will start to be some slowdown, delays because of the weather in Atlanta during the evening hours tonight and also during the overnight hours. Same thing with Charlotte, probably with overcast and rainy conditions. Central and South Florida looking pretty good. Houston's looking good. In the Dallas-Fort Worth area could be some strong winds because of a strong frontal system moving through. There Could be some isolated thunderstorms as well. Chicago is overcast and rainy so there are going to be some delays until there and up in Minneapolis-St Paul, right on the dividing line between where it's going to be raining and where it's going to be snowing, so that's going to cause some ice and there will be delays into Minneapolis during the daytime and evening hours on your Tuesday.
Speaker 0:Hopefully things will start to improve on Wednesday. As mentioned out, on the West Coast it has been wet weather moving into San Francisco, also up to Portland and Seattle, LA just a lot of cloud cover, Maybe some showers moving in tonight and San Diego generally dry. That's a look at the weather situation across the nation. We'll be back with you on Wednesday morning to give you an idea of what's going on. In the eastern seaboard, where there's heavy weather, there's a big area of low pressure moving in. Until then, have yourself a great Tuesday. Talk to you first thing tomorrow. Take care.
