Weather Whirlwind: What to Expect This Week
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and thanks for listening to theweathermanpodcom On your Wednesday. It's the fifth day of the month of March 2025. Lots of weather up along the eastern seaboard. We have a couple of frontal systems approaching the area. First front probably due through the area sometime during the middle afternoon hours. Second frontal system sometime tonight. It's causing snow across the western Great Lakes from sections of Wisconsin northward up through the UP of Michigan into Minnesota and even over into Iowa, extending into the Dakotas and eastern sections of Nebraska. So there's a lot of snow coming from that system and heavy blizzard conditions across Wisconsin into Minnesota and the UP, but into the east Chicago with rainy weather and the frontal system extends down into the Ohio Valley and that front arriving in the New York area will cause some locally severe showers and some thunderstorms later in the afternoon and evening hours on this Wednesday. Now a look at that frontal system does show that most of the heavier weather will be associated with the first front and that moving through the Atlanta area sometime around midday will cause some isolated delays into Atlanta and there might be one or two hour delays depending upon the strength of some of those thunderstorms. Also showers into central Florida, tampa, st Pete up to Jacksonville. South of there, just isolated showers in Miami. Looks like fair conditions in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth. West coast under rainy weather. Much needed rainfall in San Diego, los Angeles and also up in San Francisco. The rain continues in Portland and Seattle as well. That storm will move over the nation's midsection by later on this week.
Speaker 0:Weather forecast for the northeast corner. It looks like we are going to have those heavy rains and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening and that will also break down a lot of the air travel into the New York Philadelphia area, up into the Boston region, causing maybe one to three hour delays because of those heavy thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and early evening. Temperatures today up to near 60 in advance of those frontal systems. Then the showers and thunderstorms end. This evening we get into a clearing trend. Looks like nice weather coming our way for Thursday and for Friday A little bit of cooler conditions moving in for this weekend. I'm meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Thursday, take care.
