Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Thursday. It's the sixth day of the month of March 2025. It looks like the weather is going to be improving across the eastern half of the nation east of the Mississippi. We do see an upper level low pressure system just over Maine. That's causing clouds and some rain and even some snow across Vermont. Sections of New Hampshire. Southern portions of New Hampshire will have rain, also some snow and snow showers just coming out of the eastern sections of Lake Erie and Ontario across New York State over northwestern Pennsylvania. Aside from that big area, high pressures right now across the Gulf of Mexico extending eastward and it looks like another area of low pressure working its way out of the central and southern Rockies Going to cause quite a bit of snow. Salt Lake City, sections of central and northern Nevada, southern Idaho, just about all of Wyoming, will be under heavy snows during the daytime today and that will be extending into South Dakota and also into western portions of the state of Kansas and Nebraska and that will be for the afternoon and evening. So that storm is going to wind down and actually dry out as it goes to the central Mississippi River Valley and especially to be a rainstorm across the mid-Atlantic states, from the Carolinas southward, maybe up into northern Georgia.

In the meantime, if you are flying for today, we always start with the weather situation at the number one busiest airport in the world, that's Atlanta, and right there they're looking at generally fair sky, so no problems getting in and out of there today. Charlotte's also looking good, as does Chicago, new York, newark and LaGuardia JFK. Not too bad. There Is that northwest by west wind Usually causes a little bit of delays at Newark because sometimes they land on the northwest runway and take off on the southwest runway. That could make things a little bit slower into Newark. Laguardia JFK. They're doing pretty good. No problems weather-wise there, even up in the Boston area, although they will have some cloud cover. No problems flying in and out of New England today and tonight. South Florida looking good, as does Louisiana at New Orleans and also looking at fair weather in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth. It's out on the west coast Looks like rainy weather for San Diego and LA, and they want and need the rain. This is their rainy season and they're getting some pretty good downpours during the daytime and this evening Of course that storm translates into that big winter storm across the central Rockies. Lots of great skiing weather for Colorado, wyoming and Montana coming away during the afternoon and evening hours today and up in the Pacific Northwest looks like decent weather. Seattle and Portland high pressures building in from the northern Pacific. So the weather situation for the northeast corner looking pretty good today Early clouds giving way to some clearing in the afternoon.
