Umbrellas Required: The Weatherman's Soggy Monday Outlook
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Monday, saturday of the month of April 2025. It looks like some wet weather over the last couple of days and temperatures trending below normal for the northeast corridor, that is, from DC up to the Boston area, centered right around central and northern New Jersey where we're located and we're looking at periods of rain and showers in the early going on Monday, tapering off during the afternoon. Moving in from the southwest to the northeast of Boston will probably be overcast and raining just about all day long, but it's going to be chilly and still looking at that possibility of some snow across much of the Finger Lakes areas of New York, in central and northern portions of New York into southern Canada, up in the Adirondacks, central and northern Vermont and New Hampshire as this low pressure system moves on through. Look at these temperatures over the next several days. Normal highs should be around 57, 58 degrees. We're going to see temperatures only in the upper 40s during the daytime. Monday Also 45 to 50 for Tuesday and Wednesday as well. Wednesday might get up to about 50 to 55, but warmest up around DC but coolest up around the Boston area will only be in the lower 40s there, but we do expect another storm to develop towards the end of the week in the eastern seaboard and that's going to bring us some rainy weather for later Thursday, friday and Saturday this upcoming weekend.
Speaker 0:If you're traveling on this Monday, a frontal system up along the eastern seaboard, central and south Florida will be dry and Miami looking pretty good, and Fort Lauderdale, west Palm and also in Fort Myers you're looking at some decent weather. But if you get up towards around Savannah and up towards Atlanta and even in the Charlotte area, we are looking for overcast and IFR and rainy weather for a good portion of the day, improving by later on in the afternoon. Dc, baltimore, philly, new York all with clouds and the possibility of rain and a little bit of mixed precipitation. Up in Albany if you're going up that way Overcast and IFR conditions in the Boston area. So it looks like some slight delays, maybe an hour or two in mid-Atlantic and northeastern states on this Monday. Elsewhere looks like some snow across the Windy City in Chicago, a clear but cold weather flow for Minneapolis-St Paul, where temperatures will be averaging about a good 10 to 15 degrees below normal Dry weather. In Texas, houston and Dallas-Fort Worth no problems there. Looks like dry weather in central and southern California, la and down to San Diego no problems, but clouding up. Looks like some rainy weather for San Francisco and the Palo Alto area Later in the day on Monday. Monday also looking at rainy conditions all across Portland and up in the Seattle area, central and western portions of Washington and Oregon a mixture of some rain and snow in the mountains. But it looks like that high pressure is building south into the Dakotas and that will be arriving in the eastern seaboard. Give me some chilly weather for the mid-Atlantic states and the northeast right through midweek.
