Tuesday's Forecast: Chilly Temperatures and Snow Showers Across the Northeast
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Tuesday, eighth day of the month of April, and well, after some rainy weather on Saturday, sunday and some light showers during the daytime on Monday, the northeast under some very chilly readings. As a matter of fact, we're seeing some rain and snow showers moving across the Finger Lakes regions of New York, that's, down from Rochester southward to Elmira, then eastward up to about Cortland and then northward all the way up towards the Albany area. Even up into Yadirondacks there's going to be some snow showers and into central and northern portions of Vermont and New Hampshire some snow showers are possible During the daytime on Tuesday. That brisk northwesterly flow goes across the warmer Great Lakes and it looks like chillier readings for today and tomorrow. In the northeast Normal highs should be between 53 and 58. Only going to be in the 40s. Today. The Met game at New York City. They had to move that game from 7 pm to 4 pm because of the chilly readings and high temperatures in New York. Only about 45. And at game time it should be 45, dropping down to about 40 by the time the game is over at 6 or 6.30.
Speaker 0:Looking at a weather situation that should be dry for Tuesday and Wednesday. But by Thursday another area of low pressure will be arriving in the east Mid-Atlantic states. From DC all the way up to the Boston area will be under rainy conditions later Thursday, friday and probably even Saturday in the early portion of the weekend. Elsewhere across the nation. If you are traveling on this Tuesday expecting dry conditions down around the Atlanta area, also expecting dry weather in Charlotte, richmond, also DC, baltimore and Philly mainly dry conditions, but some of those snow showers are expected across Elmira, new York, rochester, buffalo, maybe up in Erie, pennsylvania, also some snow showers and squalls at Utica, rome, even into the Syracuse area, albany, northward, all the way up to Plattsburgh expecting some snowy conditions with that strong northwesterly flow and the cold air that could give several inches of snow, a lot more in the Adirondacks, but lower areas still looking at a pretty good coating of snowfall during the afternoon and evening hours today, some of which could make it into northwestern New Jersey and southern and western sections of Connecticut and southern New England. But it does look dry in Atlanta.
Speaker 0:Down in central and south Florida area of low pressure along the frontal system almost stationary We'll make showers and thunderstorms from Fort Myers southward to the Keys and then eastward to Miami, north to Fort Lauderdale, west Palm and all the way up to Daytona. But that rainy weather will probably end as we head later in Tuesday and Wednesday. Dry conditions in Houston and Dallas. Fort Worth looking at dry weather, but chilly conditions in Chicago and Minnesota. Minneapolis looking that way and four corners looking dry. La, san Francisco also dry, but rainy weather in Portland and Seattle. What else is new? I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletieri, and that is the weather situation for your Tuesday, eighth day of the month of April. Hope you have a great one today. Talk to your first thing tomorrow. Take care.
