Storm Intensifying Off Eastern Seaboard Will Bring Heavy Friday Rainfall
Hi, this is BD Roger, steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking into the weathermanpodcom on your Thursday. It's the 10th day of the month of April, a third of the way through this month of April, and the temperatures still continue to be on the cool side across the northeast corridor and looks like areas of rain will be developing. The heaviest rainfall for the northeast is going to be during the evening hours on Friday One to two inches of rainfall, a good possibility For the daytime today, though mostly cloudy a high of 50 to 55, with rain likely tonight On the light side, down near 40. Casual rain and showers on Friday, especially in the afternoon and evening Highs near 50. It's at night with a storm intensifying just off the eastern seaboard. One to two inches of rainfall a good possibility. That's Friday night. Early Saturday from DC up to the Boston area Overnight low temperatures down near 40 degrees and still some showers possible on Saturday Highs near 50. A look at your weekend rounding out on Sunday with clouds and sun and our highs upper 50s to lower 60s. So a little bit of milder weather there.
Speaker 1:If you're traveling on this Thursday with the cloud cover moving in, if you're driving, say, down to the mid-Atlantic states or out to the Tennessee Valley. Looking at overcast conditions, for the most part there is going to be some occasional rain on I-81 southward to Roanoke and then even westward out to Nashville and northward up into Kentucky. That occasional rain, not the heaviest. The heavy rain is going to be later in the day on Friday and Friday night, but if you're flying down to Atlanta it'll be overcast with some showers, especially afternoon and evening. Mostly dry conditions in South Florida, although there will be some afternoon thunderstorms just off of the Keys and Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
Speaker 1:Into Texas, looking dry from Houston to Dallas-Fort Worth no problems there, just a lot of cloud cover in Chicago and in Minneapolis-St Paul with a slight chance of some showers daytime today, but no major weather delays expected in those places. And out in the West Coast, dry weather from San Diego to LA and up to San Francisco, but more rainy weather moving into Portland and Seattle Not a linger into Friday as well. Looks like that heavy rains will be developing just off the coast of Virginia and Delmarva during the latter portion of Friday. Today, though, just a lot of cloud cover and some pesky showers from time to time. I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletieri, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Friday. Enjoy the day.
