Coast-to-Coast Forecast: Dry East, Snowy Rockies with Meteorologist Steve Pellettiere
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom On your Friday. It's the 18th day of the month of April 2025. Good Friday, and we're looking at a weather situation across the eastern seaboard that's fairly dry, extending from, actually, the Canadian Maritimes, maine, all the way down in through the Boston area, fair in New York City, philadelphia, baltimore, dc, even fair down in Atlanta down to Florida and also to the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana. But there is snow across central and northern portions of Colorado and Wyoming, the Denver area probably going to get about between four and six inches of snowfall during the afternoon and evening on Friday. Cheyenne, wyoming, also probably going to get about three to six inches of snow there. Up to a foot of snow, however, is possible in Boulder, colorado, some sections of Utah, of course, wyoming, south and western portions of Montana and even portions of extreme northeastern Nevada will be getting rain, sleet and snow from a big storm that's heading out of the Pacific Northwest and down into the nation's midsection, but along the east it looks like great weather for today For the New York area, looking for sunny skies and highs into the mid-60s. Tomorrow there'll be some extra clouds from some of that moisture moving in from the Midwest. That means a warmer day on southwest winds and temperatures in New York City could reach between 80 and 85 degrees, depends on how much sunshine comes out. Also, looking at fair weather for Easter Sunday. Looking at a partly to mostly sunny day with temperatures back into the middle to upper 60s, near 70. A little bit cooler for earlier next week.
Speaker 0:If you are flying on this Friday, it looks like great weather in the New York area. Boston too, no problems. Philly, baltimore, dc all dry, as mentioned. Atlanta, number one place in the world where the greatest amount of inbound and outbound and traffic into the Atlanta area. We're looking at generally fair skies, no problems there. That's a hub, that's a major hub. So when things go down and around the Atlanta area the whole nation can be effective. So good weather there.
Speaker 0:Good weather in central and south Florida. Texas looking good. Chicago, probably some rain on the stronger southwesterly flow, but not a lot. The heaviest rain and some severe thunderstorms in western Iowa. Also, intersections of central and southern Minnesota, all of Wisconsin and the western Great Lakes. There'll be rain and of course I mentioned that snow that's in northwestern portions of Colorado, wyoming, all of Wyoming and eastern sections of Utah between 6 and 12 inches of snow, depending upon where you are. Of course a lot more in the mountains. On the west coast. Still some light shower action in San Diego and LA and the LA Basin. But it does look dry in San Francisco, palo Alto, northward up to Portland and into the Seattle area. No problems flying into those places. Just a big storm, big snowstorm actually across the central Rockies In the east. Just some great weather for the next several days. I'm meteorologist, steve Pelletieri, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Saturday. See you then.
