The Weather Man Podcast, I talk about weather!
Today's forecast brings dangerous weather to the Central US while the East Coast bakes.
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom On Saturday. It is the 19th day of the month of April and we've got very warm weather up along the eastern seaboard and some locally severe weather that extends from central Texas up across Oklahoma into Missouri, sections of southern Illinois, indiana and Ohio and even northwestern Pennsylvania. Some heavy storms in the form of thunderstorms and even tornadoes are likely across the central Mississippi River Valley as this system slowly progresses through the area In the east. It's a very warm pattern for New York City, philadelphia, baltimore, even up in the Boston area, where temperatures will range between 80 and 85. That's well above normal and it will cool back. However, at frontal systems it's causing all the severe weather that will be moving through, but it will lighten up by the time it reaches New York City and the Northeast. That high pressure starts to build in on Sunday. For Easter Sunday it looks like a fair day but also a little bit cooler. But we also look for some cooler conditions into early next week and then try fairly near normal conditions for a good portion of this upcoming week in April. In the meantime, if you are traveling on this Saturday, we do see some great weather. No problems down in Atlanta or Charlotte. Central and South Florida also looking pretty good. Houston at this point not looking too bad for the daytime on Saturday, but locally severe weather is expected from Dallas up across through Oklahoma City and through St Louis and even into, as mentioned, southern Illinois and Indiana. So keep that in mind for the daytime today, check your local conditions, local forecast and be alert for those heavy weather moving your way. In the meantime we're also seeing around four corners areas of rain and snow from the system that's actually diminishing somewhat. It'll be moving across Texas, giving quite a bit of flooding weather in many communities there as that low pressure passes through. That'll be by later Saturday and Sunday.
Speaker 0:West Coast looking generally dry. A little cold front moving through northern California. It's already into eastern Washington and Oregon. Looks like dry weather for Portland and Seattle. Looks like also good conditions for San Francisco, la and San Diego as well. Chicago had the thunderstorms in the early portion of the day with that cold front, but it will be drying out by later today and tonight. Looks like dry weather in Minneapolis, st Paul as well.
Speaker 0:So forecast for the northeast Carter calling for a partly sunny day with the possibility of some showers or even a thundershower at night. High temperatures 80 to 85,. As mentioned, it's going to be very warm and those showers at night with nighttime low temperatures down near 50. Easter Sunday is looking partly sunny. Highs for the day will range up close to 70 to 75. But cooling back as we head towards Monday. Clouds and sun as the frontal system will be stationary just to the south. So clouds and sun and temperatures only in the 50s to lower 60s on Monday. I'm Eddie Rogers, steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Sunday, easter Sunday. Have a good one, take care.
