The Weather Man Podcast, I talk about weather!
Today's temperatures will soar above normal across the DC-Boston corridor.
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Tuesday. It is the 29th day of the month of April and quickly coming to a close. Temperatures averaging just a little bit above normal now because of the mild conditions that we had on Monday and what we're going to have both today and tomorrow. Across the northeast corridor, from DC up to the Boston area, we're looking at temperatures averaging about a good 7 to 8 degrees above normal and it's going to be fair and dry as a warm front moves through. So plenty of sunshine and highs in the 80s in New York City, around 75 to 80 in Boston, 80 to 85 or 83 to 88 degrees in many communities down in central and southern Maryland, northern Virginia. And that's all because of the southwest flow and advance of a frontal system that will be approaching tonight. As a front moves through the northeast corner, it's probably going to be on the dry side, so there might be a few sprinkles or showers. Most of the heavier downpours will be across northwestern Pennsylvania and western New York State, but for the most part you're looking at a chance of a shower For your Tuesday night, with nighttime low temperatures getting a little bit cooler down into the upper 40s, low to middle 50s Daytime. Tomorrow. Look for highs to range in the mid to upper 70s. Still a warm day for the last day of the month of April, but we open up May with a cooler flow. High pressure currently across the Dakotas will build in. Should give us temperatures generally 70 to 75, maybe some showers, with another cold front on Friday, then clearing and cooler for the first upcoming weekend of the month of May.
Speaker 1:In the meantime, for today we're looking at weather situation If you're traveling by air just some scattered thunderstorms around the Charlotte area later in the day and at night Daytime should be dry, so no major problems even into Atlanta. But there will be widely scattered showers and thunderstorms across central and south Florida, so some slight delays there. I think for the most part the thunderstorms will be highly isolated and mainly restricted. Between 3 and about 7 pm Dry weather in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth. But looking at central Oklahoma, some locally severe weather, tornadoes and the possibility of heavy thunderstorms as the frontal system goes from Amarillo across and through Oklahoma City and then into southern sections of Missouri. But up in the central and northern Pauline states we've got great weather in the Dakotas, fair and dry in Minneapolis. A clearing trend after early showers in Chicago Looks like good weather for LA and San Francisco. Rainy conditions that's typical Up in Portland and Seattle Looks like some great weather for the Northeast, though.
Speaker 1:For your Tuesday. Hope you have a good one. I'm meteorologist Steve Pelletier. We talk to you first thing on Wednesday. Take care.
