From Showers to Sunshine: What's Coming for the Northeast
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Friday. It's the 16th day of the month of May 2025 and the rain at least occasional showers continues in the Northeast Wasn't as extensively cloudy and rainy as it was on Wednesday. In some places better, between one and three inches of rainfall from about Baltimore all the way up into western Connecticut, and it looks like the daytime today. We had at least earlier on Thursday. We had some fair conditions for a while, but then we got into. Those showers during the later afternoon and early evening Caused a few nice rainbows around the area because there was a strong clearing trend thereafter, but still a lot of cloud cover for us during the afternoon hours today and into Saturday.
Speaker 0:We have a weather front currently working its way out of Minnesota and that front extends from western Lake Superior down to central portions of Wisconsin, then down into central Texas. That frontal system will be arriving in the northeast on Saturday with some scattered showers and thunderstorms, again with some downpours. Then we get into some fair, dry weather that'll commence on Sunday and probably last at least until Tuesday of next week. Again, this is from about Richmond up to the Boston area for this upcoming weekend and next week. In the meantime, if you are flying today, expecting some scattered showers around Charlotte. Good weather in Atlanta. Also central and south Florida looking good. Miami, orlando, tampa all looking good, weather-wise. Weather-wise also decent in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth, although a frontal system just west of Dallas could result in some thunderstorms at night. Also some scattered showers, some thunderstorms.
Speaker 0:In Chicago, rainy weather, continued eye-off-fire conditions in Minnesota and Minneapolis. Looks like it's going to be raining just about all day into the evening. Dry weather on the west coast, from San Diego, la, san Francisco, north up into the Portland area where there will be some showers, and rainy weather in Seattle again on this Friday. Again for the northeast today expect our high temperatures range into the upper 70s, lower 80s and a good possibility of some thunderstorms in the later afternoon and evening. Doesn't look like it's going to rain all day on Friday, but we do have that chance of showers, also scattered showers or even a thunderstorm on Saturday. But then nice weather for Sunday, monday and Tuesday of next week over the Northeast. I'm your Roger, steve Pelletieri, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Saturday. Take care.
