Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletierian. I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Tuesday, 20th day of the month of May, third of the way through, and looks like the beautiful weather that we've had across the northeast over the last several days cool temperatures too going to gradually start to break down and you'll notice an increase in clouds, with sunshine to start, with an increase in clouds as the day wears on. A series of upper level, low pressure system and surface systems that are currently moving across Iowa, southern Minnesota, also into the northern plain states, the Dakotas and western Great Lakes, is going to arrive in the eastern seaboard. It's going to give us a strong easterly wind and from DC up to the Boston area looks like the temperatures will remain cool because of the ocean influence the oceans this time of year still on the cool side. So any east wind will keep temperatures in check and we look at the possibility on Wednesday, Thursday and even Friday of occasional rain and showers. It could give us as much as a half to as much as an inch and a half of rainfall over the next several days, but everybody's eyes are looking towards this upcoming holiday weekend, Saturday still the possibility of some showers in the northeast. However, it looks like it could get into a clearing trend. Big area high pressure starts to build in from the Midwest and that'll give us nice weather for later Saturday, Sunday and probably even Memorial Day, Monday and for the last week of the month of May.

Next week looks like our weather situation may start to warm up In the meantime, though looks like some wet weather for midweek into at least the end of the week on Friday. But today starts off fairly good Now if you're traveling by air today. Still some light delays in the northeast, in the Boston area because of those strong winds, but that'll die down. Of course. Delays in the Newark area have been one to two hours because of the mostly equipment, not because of weather, but that will be a problem on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Laguardia and JFK also are looking fairly good. Down in the Charlotte area it looks like overcast and rainy weather and possibly even some thunderstorms during the evening hours tonight. Also Wednesday and Thursday and the upper level low will move into Atlanta Thursday and the upper level low will move into Atlanta and, although not too bad for today, Atlanta probably will be experiencing locally severe conditions in places, slowing things down into the world's most active airport and it looks like that will continue for both Wednesday and Thursday. Hopefully some improving conditions as we head into the upcoming holiday weekend.

Central and South Florida looking good. Tampa, Orlando down to Fort Myers, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm All looking pretty good for today. Looks like some showers in Houston, but a clearing trend for Dallas-Fort Worth. They've had some heavy weather for the last several days. Chicago will be overcast and wet, with rain. Also rainy weather in Minnesota. Dry weather in California. Also Portland showing increasing clouds with maybe some showers. Seattle, of course. Rainy weather Seems like it's always raining there, but hopefully we'll get into some drier, warmer weather over the next several days. Big area high pressure it looks like it's building in from the Pacific. I'm your manager, Steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Wednesday. Enjoy the day.
