Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Thursday, 22nd day of the month of May 2025. And we've got some really overcast and cool weather across the Northeast. Rainy conditions expected today from DC northward up to Philly and Baltimore, of course, out towards central PA and Pittsburgh, altoona also up into New York, newark and LaGuardia, all showing overcast and rainy weather. It'll be raining in Connecticut, massachusetts, most of Maine, at least southern Maine, central and northern portions of New Hampshire and Vermont, new York State of course included, and much of that rain across the eastern Great Lakes associated with low pressure forming off the Jersey coast and an upper-level system swinging down out of western New York State, lake Erie and Ontario. That system will take a while to get on through. So wet weather for the northeast corridor. Today, choppeteers, cool only in the mid-50s should be in the lower 70s that's the normal highs and it looks like about a half to as much as an inch and a half of rain in some places. More raining weather for tonight and for Friday, although less so, just more like showers. On Friday Temperatures will recover closer to 60 degrees across the area and it looks like better weather as we head towards Saturday, sunday and Monday, that upper level system may cause some rain showers across Penn State and New York State and central and northern New England. However, elsewhere the weather will be dry from the mid-Atlantic DC southward all the way down into the Carolinas, georgia and the Gulf Coast. That'll be for both Saturday and Sunday and even Memorial Day Monday, although, as we head towards later Monday and the middle of next week, an area of low pressure is going to give us some more rainy weather to end off the month of May as we get to the last few days of the month of May next week.

With the end of the month of May as we get to the last few days of the month of May next week, if you are flying today, ifr conditions in the Newark area, of course, along with other problems that they're having there. It's two-hour delays, at least some cancellations. Check your airlines. Jfk and LaGuardia also delays because of IFR conditions, although JFK usually handles this pretty well. Also up in the Boston area rainy conditions. Hartford the same. Albany and Buffalo more rainy conditions in those places as well. Chicago just a few light showers. Atlanta's looking dry, charlotte is also looking dry.

Central and South Florida cold front moving through there There'll be some afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Could be some delays into Central and South Florida, south of the Lake Okeechobee and down around Fort Myers, naples and over towards Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Dry conditions for the most part in central Texas, dallas-fort Worth a few thunderstorms, but most of the time dry. Some light rainy weather in Atlanta. West Coast is looking pretty good from LA up to San Francisco, but looks like some rainy conditions are possible from Portland up to the Seattle area, though most of that will be drifting east later in the day. Chicago also showing some showers. Dry weather, however, but cool. Minneapolis, st Paul that high pressure is building to the eastern seaboard for this upcoming weekend. Hope it gets here on time. I've been your moderator, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day on this Thursday. We'll talk to you first thing on Friday. Take.
