Weatherman's Sunday Forecast
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletierian. I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom On your Sunday, 25th day of the month of May, right in the middle of the Memorial Day weekend, looks like the weather situation across the Northeast not too bad. It's been an upper-level low-pressure system that's been across central and northern New York State, southern New England and eastern Canada and the circulation around that is keeping some cold air aloft and with a stronger May sun and all the moisture on the ground it causes the cloud cover to form mainly in the afternoon hours. I think we're going to have a pretty good day today. From DC up to the Boston area. However, there will be those afternoon clouds and even some showers from DC southward to Richmond, to Raleigh and also out to Charlotte, even down into central and northern portions of Georgia as well. South Carolina, even down into central and northern portions of Georgia as well as South Carolina. Some locally heavy rains in eastern Tennessee, western North Carolina, northern Georgia, northern Alabama and Mississippi. The most severe weather you have to check with your local forecast out in west Texas from Amarillo south over out to well, the southern states near San Angelo and eastward to Dallas-Fort Worth. Some heavy rains are expected across western portions of South Dakota, western Nebraska, most of Kansas and eastern Colorado. Even on the west coast we see another area of low pressure. Moving into Oregon and Washington State Looks like generally dry weather for California, but for the northeast today temperatures ranging between 70 and 75. Morning, sun, afternoon clouds, evening generally fair. Looks like good weather for Memorial Day, monday Remember it's a solemn holiday and think of those who gave the last full measure for our country in all services and, of course, including our first responders, and always something that we keep dear and near to our heart.
Speaker 0:Weather-wise for the rest of the nation, if you are traveling today, as mentioned, atlanta will have some locally heavy rain so there will be some delays going into there and also into Charlotte, central and South Florida. Just isolated thunderstorms, nothing much way light amounts of rainfall down there, but there will be some isolated periods of delays because of the thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon or early evening on the southern portion of the peninsula and also extending from Tampa down to Fort Myers. A greater likelihood of some showers as they get closer and closer to their rainy season there. Looking at dry weather in Houston, as mentioned, the possibility of some locally severe weather. Dallas west to Amarillo and to the western portion of Texas. Also that rain and heavy thunderstorms possible in eastern Colorado, dallas, west to Amarillo and to the western portion of Texas. Also that rain and heavy thunderstorms possible in eastern Colorado and in the Midwest, as I mentioned, sections of Kansas and Nebraska, so going into there. But Chicago's looking good, as is Minnesota and LA, san Diego, san Francisco all dry but overcast and rainy weather.
Speaker 0:Up in the Seattle-Tacoma area for your Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening I'm your moderator, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Memorial Day, monday. Take care.
