Weather Alerts: East Coast Rains Incoming

Stephen Pellettiere
Speaker 1:

Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieria and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom. On Wednesday, it's the 28th day of the month of May, coming down to the last couple of days of this month, and it's going to be on the wet side across the eastern seaboard, extending from actually central Florida all the way up into southern New England. Areas of low pressure are going to be forming, basically across the Ohio Valley and then moving to the east, and it's going to give us light rain during the daytime on Wednesday, mostly Wednesday afternoon, wednesday evening, and some scattered showers on Thursday. But a stronger area of low pressure looks to give us between one and two inches of rainfall for Friday evening into Saturday At least the last day of the month. On Saturday does look like it's going to be overcast and wet, but we're going to open up that first day of June on Sunday and it looks like a clearing trend of some nice weather In the meantime. For the New York area, or from the northeast corner, from DC up to the Boston area, look for a cloudy Wednesday with temperatures ranging only between 65 and 70. There will be occasional rain and showers, but mostly on the light side, especially later in the day and at night Looks like rainy weather is expected for Thursday, but it's going to be quite spouty from a few showers in the early going and then some heavier light showers, heavier showers or thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. And then it's on Friday that we're going to have a storm forming to our south, probably over just off the coast of Virginia or the Delmarva Peninsula, and that's going to advance northeast and bring us between 1 and 2 inches of rainfall, probably from about 5 pm Friday to about 2 or 3 pm on Saturday of this upcoming weekend. Then we get into a clearing trend, as mentioned on Sunday. That'll probably last right up through the middle of next week. So temperatures for the next several days will be cool. When you have that east wind, generally in the 60s, that'll be for Thursday and possibly a little bit warmer on Friday because the rain will be moving in. So fair but cool conditions for a portion of the time on Friday, giving way to that heavier rain later in the day and at night. That's when those east winds will kick in and temperatures will only be in the 50s and the lower 60s. A. Those east winds will kick in and temperatures will only be in the 50s and the lower 60s. A little bit of warming and it looks like typical June weather will be arriving. Good balance of next week. That means highs in the 70s to near 80. Nighttime lows in the 50s.

If you're flying on this Wednesday looking at overcast and rainy weather across the northeast Carter from New York City, laguardia, newark, jfk all going to have mostly cloudy and shower action Showers also in Baltimore and DC. As you head further south looks like occasional rain and showers in Charlotte and also in Atlanta, although not too strong. As far as the thunderstorms are concerned, there is a frontal system moving through may contain a few isolated thunderstorms in the latter portion of the day on Wednesday and Wednesday night. Central and South Florida also scattered. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms Otherwise fair and muggy.

Looks like rainy conditions in Houston and also showers and thunderstorms in Dallas-Fort Worth, heavier and severe thunderstorms over western Texas, east of El Paso, just south of Amarillo, and also some rainy weather in eastern Colorado, western Kansas and Nebraska. The west coast at this point is looking dry. Looks like dry weather in Los Angeles and San Francisco after some early clouds and back to some showers moving into Portland and Seattle in the Pacific Northwest, chicago also with rain, but it looks like a clearing trend for Minneapolis-St Paul later on Wednesday. I'm Eddie Rogers, steve Pelletieri and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Thursday. See you then.
