Weather Ahead
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Saturday, 28th day of the month of June 2025. A month that had a lot of wet weather across the Northeast, some hot weather of recent, and now we had cool weather for the last couple of days, both from Thursday and Friday. Of course, frontal system will move through to our south. Now that front is returning as a warm front and that means temperatures back in the 80s to the lower 90s for Saturday and Sunday. Much across DC, up in Baltimore and Philadelphia, new York City and up in the Boston area, still on the cool side today but probably getting into some of that warmer weather during the daytime on Sunday and Monday we see an area of high pressure building down out of the Great Lakes and another area of high pressure over central Canada that may be arriving towards the end of the week. The other high pressure moving in just represents some drier air. That'll be for Sunday. It looks like Monday will also be fair but warm, with a chance of some late-day thunderstorms.
Speaker 0:As we end off the month of June, begin the new month of July, with typical July weather. That means sunny and warm with some late-day thunderstorms, maybe a strong frontal system moving through sometime Wednesday night. So the 4th of July, high pressure building in Sunny and pleasant Temperatures in the 80s with lower comfortable humidity and northwest winds. So let's hope for that. But in the meantime, for your Saturday it'll be clouds and sunny and temperatures ranging close to 90, with some late-day and evening thunderstorms likely and also more scattered late day or early evening thunderstorms for Sunday, but a good portion of the time on Sunday it will be dry and warm in the 80s. Some pretty nice weather expected for Sunday and even Monday, about the same sunshine, 80s to near 90.
Speaker 0:If you are traveling on this Saturday, it looks like rainy weather in Atlanta and Charlotte and also down in central and south Florida. A lot of rain, just occasional thunderstorms during the afternoon. Frontal system moving through during the latter portion of the day and evening will cause some heavy or severe weather across sections of central and northern Ohio, cleveland down towards Pittsburgh and, as that frontal system arrives in the northeast on Saturday evening, maybe some locally heavy thunderstorms in the New York area which will give us some delays moving into the tri-state area. Chicago's looking dry, but some locally severe weather in Minneapolis-St Paul could cause some delays into there. If you're traveling to Minnesota, it looks like generally fair or typical Texas weather. Maybe some showers. In Houston, hot and dry. In Dallas-Fort Worth Dry weather. In California, however, it looks like a little bit of a clearing trend for Portland and Seattle expected for Saturday. Maybe back to some dry weather for Sunday before the next rainy system moves in towards the middle portion of this upcoming week as we get into the new month of July.
Speaker 0:I'm your host, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great Saturday. Looks like the weather's going to be fairly decent, but on the warm side, and look out for those thunderstorms. Nice weather for Sunday and Monday. Have a great day. Talk to you tomorrow.
