Weather Forecast Update
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into the weathermanpodcom on your Thursday. It's the third day of the month of July 2025 and we're looking at a holiday weekend coming up the 4th of July, independence Day weekend, commencing later today and of course, tonight tomorrow also. Saturday and Sunday All excellent weather. Across the Northeast we have a frontal system that's moving through. The front is going to cause some scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours on Thursday in the mid-Atlantic region, probably from about Baltimore northward to Wilmington, philadelphia, new York City and up to the Boston area. But that frontal system will eventually swing on through High pressure currently across the central and northern Great Lakes and another high pressure cell over the central Mississippi River Valley will be advancing eastward. That's going to give us excellent weather for Friday, saturday and Sunday and warming up as we head in towards the end of the weekend and early next week will be in the lower 90s across much of the mid-Atlantic and northeast, for most places at this point are looking at generally a summer-like pattern continuing right in through the middle of next week before another cold front probably arrives sometime either later Wednesday or Thursday of next week as well. High temperatures on your Thursday, ranging between 85 and 90 degrees, that chance of widely scattered, locally severe thunderstorms, probably between 4 and 8 pm, then clearing up. Nighttime lows in the middle 60s, so excellent sleeping weather at night. And look at this 4th of July, looking at a sunny day High temperatures in the mid to upper 80s, low, comfortable humidity, northwest winds Just perfect conditions Right in through the evening Excellent for fireworks and celebrations, and later afternoon and evening hours on Friday Temperatures will settle back into the upper 60s and lower 70s in most places across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Fair skies on Saturday and Sunday, warming up though upper 80s to near 90 on Saturday, 90 to 95 on Sunday and in the 90s also for Monday of next week, as mentioned.
Speaker 0:If you're traveling today, look out for that possibility of some locally heavy thunderstorms in the latter portion of the afternoon and evening hours. That's probably going to cause some delays in and around the New York, laguardia, jfk and up in the Boston area as well, but it looks like that will improve the morning weather. Morning traveling, midday traveling not too bad. Atlanta is going to be dry. Also dry in Charlotte Looks like dry weather in Houston, scattered showers and thunderstorms still a possibility all across the Florida Peninsula so there could be some delays in there because of those heavier storms and the possibility of some tropical development over the next 72 to 96 hours. So we'll be watching for that.
Speaker 0:Central and West Texas under showers and thunderstorms. At Dallas-Fort Worth just hot and late-day thunderstorms Also looking mostly cloudy temperatures in the 80s. In Chicago, minneapolis-st Paul, some rain showers, but not too bad. Temperatures will actually be quite comfortable near 80 degrees. San Francisco, la, san Diego are looking basically good, except San Francisco probably having some fog and some drizzling showers early, then some improving weather later on. Also fair skies in Portland and in Seattle Most of the rainy weather across four corners, extending northward into the central and northern Rockies and western Montana, central and northern Idaho and eastern sections of Washington and Oregon. I'm your host, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great Independence Day 4th of July weekend. Looks like the weather's going to be pretty good. Keep it safe and sane, enjoy your family and have a great time. Take care. Talk to you soon. I'll be right back with you on the 4th of July.
