PM Flood Watch for the Northeast
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri. I am the Weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Monday. It's the 14th day of the month of July, very quickly getting to the halfway mark and still up along the eastern seaboard looks like after a beautiful day on Sunday. For the most part Areas of showers and even some thunderstorms, associated with a funnel system, almost stationary, extending from just over northern Kentucky through West Virginia, central Pennsylvania, then off into New England. The areas of showers and thunderstorms will most likely be from Washington DC, baltimore, philly, new York City and up into the Boston area. I don't know if during the afternoon, possibly with some locally heavy storms during the evening hours. Then, as we head towards Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday, that high pressure starts to take over, the thunderstorm threat starts to diminish just a little bit. It'll probably be with us just about each afternoon. It's just typical in July. But temperatures for the most part not too bad, generally in the 80s, near 90 degrees if we have enough sunshine. Right up through Wednesday and Thursday and again as towards we get the end of the week there is going to be some scattered showers and thunderstorms arriving in the east once again. So temperatures for the most part today in the 80s to near 90, but with showers and thunderstorms very numerous during the afternoon. There could be some locally severe storms in the northeast corner during the latter portion of today and tonight. This looks like a little bit better weather moving our way on Tuesday and Wednesday, but still with that chance of a shower and thundershower After flying.
Speaker 0:Today it looks like Atlanta will be generally dry, looking at showers and thunderstorms, and in Charlotte clear conditions or fair conditions, I should say. In Chicago and Minneapolis, st Paul, a little bit early cloud cover and maybe some rain. Moving in the warm front's just on through there. North Down in central and south Florida will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. Dry weather in Houston and Dallas. Although Dallas may have a late-day thunderstorm, temperature still quite a bit on the hot side there. Four corners showing showers and thunderstorms all across Utah through Colorado southward into New Mexico and Arizona. The monsoons are in full strength there. It looks like dry weather in San Diego and Los Angeles after some morning clouds and fog and San Francisco is looking dry. Also dry in Portland and Seattle as well. I'm your moderator, steve Pelletier, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day. Today Could be some showers and thunderstorms across the Northeast, but it does look like some better weather, more typical July weather as we head towards midweek. Have a great day. Talk to you first thing tomorrow.
