Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to the weathermanpodcom on your Thursday 17th day of the month of July 2025. And we have some weather action in the Northeast. There were some scattered showers and thunderstorms yesterday and a lot of thunderstorms moved through the Chicago area during the later afternoon and early evening. That was a cold front that will be arriving east during the afternoon and early evening today, but heat advisories are in effect from DC up to about the New York City area Warm and muggy weather up in Boston too, with the possibility of some showers and thunderstorms anytime after 2 pm. Those thunderstorms could be locally severe, with some strong gusty winds and heavy downpours, and then, after the front moves through, skies will clear. The front will probably become stationary across Virginia or the Carolinas. That means high pressure currently across the state of Minnesota is going to drift east. Give us a beautiful day for Friday Temperatures in the 80s with comfortable humidity on northwest winds. Saturday also looking mostly sunny, mid to upper 80s, but some thunderstorms will be arriving at night. Yet another frontal system will be arriving sometime on Sunday with showers and thunderstorms, opening the door to another high pressure and beautiful weather for early next week.

In the meantime, if you're flying today looking at scattered thunderstorms in Atlanta and in Charlotte, of course those heavy thunderstorms have been a problem during the afternoon hours in central and south Florida, from Vero Beach all the way down to West Palm, down to Fort Lauderdale and Miami, even out to the Keys. Fort Myers has also been getting those typical thunderstorms during the afternoon as they're in their wet season. Rainy conditions in New Orleans, but drier in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth. Dry weather in Chicago they had the thunderstorms yesterday and also dry weather in the Minneapolis-St Paul area with high pressure building in there. It's just beautiful weather and that's moving east for tomorrow. Some scattered showers are a possibility in Southern California and San Diego and LA, but looks like dry conditions after early fog in San Francisco. Generally fair conditions in Portland and Seattle. No problems weather-wise flying into those places during the afternoon and evening. Today. I'm your Roger C Pelletierian, I am the Weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Friday. See you then.
