Northeast Braces for 90+ Temperatures Through Midweek
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpondcom on your Sunday. It's the 10th day of the month of August 2025. It looks like the fair weather pattern continues across the northeast, with high pressure anchored right off the eastern seaboard, off the Jersey and Delmarva coast. It'll be a fixture there for the next several days as the heat pump continues to warm things up each and every day, touching 90 today and in the 90s Monday through Wednesday of this week. We see a frontal system across the western Great Lakes and that'll be arriving in the east gradually but then breaking up as it gets closer to us. Later. Wednesday and Thursday Might give us some showers, but the trend does look generally dry right in through much of this upcoming week and into the next weekend. In the meantime, it looks like temperatures today will range near 90 degrees, with sunshine, fair at night, down to the mid to upper 60s and sunny weather, hot and more humid weather for Monday, tuesday and Wednesday. Each day, 90 to 95. And looking at the possibility of some late day thunderstorms moving our way sometime later on either Wednesday or Thursday away sometime later on either Wednesday or Thursday. Well, the Jersey Shore and the South Shore, long Island and the Delmarva Coast looks like a little bit of a sea breeze each afternoon will keep temperatures there in check, generally ranging to near 75 to 80, as ocean temperatures are in the lower 70s in most places just offshore. That's over the next several days. But as another weather front moves through the region sometime either Wednesday or Thursday we are going to have that possibility of some showers and some drier weather will arrive as the winds come out of the northwest and we get into some lower relative humidity but still with generally warm conditions right through Friday and Saturday. If you're traveling today, just a slight chance of some showers in Atlanta, but looks like Charlotte will have mostly fair skies with a late dayday thunderstorm chance. Better chance of rain across the Florida Peninsula. It's been down in southern Georgia, coastal north and south Carolina and all the way down to the Keys. That could present the possibility of some delays going in and out of most Florida airports during the afternoon and early evening hours.
Speaker 0:Today Looking at some showers and thunderstorms across Louisiana and New Orleans and also the possibility of some light showers in Houston. Hot and mugging sticky in Dallas-Fort Worth and the possibility of some thunderstorms in Chicago, but a clearing trend of cooler, drier weather in Minneapolis and most of Minnesota. Dry conditions across the West Coast, showing San Diego, la and San Francisco all dry. Same thing for Portland and Seattle. Those smoky conditions do continue in Central and Southern California over the next several days. I've been your host, justin Pelletier, and I'm the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to you first thing on Monday. See you then.
