August Ends Cool and Dry: Your 7-Day Northeast Forecast
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I am the weatherman. Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom On your Monday. It is the 25th day of the month of August 2025. Coming down to the last two days of this month of August across the Northeast, the weather was pretty nice throughout the weekend. Beautiful day on Friday, saturday and Sunday, although Sunday had a little extra cloud cover during the afternoon, quickly moved offshore and we now have a little frontal system poking through that could give us a little bit of cloud cover, maybe a sprinkler shower nearly going, but most places it's going to be on the dry side.
Speaker 0:As monday progresses into the afternoon, looking at sunshine for philly and new york boston area, all with temperatures in the 80 to 85 degree range, a little bit of a cool air starts to work its way in. So at night, mostly clear down to the upper 50s. Tuesday's looking sunny, highs 70s to near 80. Wednesday sunshine 78. Thursday another sunny day. Highs near 80 degrees, upper 70s, lower 80s for Friday, saturday and the last day of the month, on Sunday. Even at this point, labor Day, monday is looking pretty good and the first day of September temperatures also near 80 degrees with fair skies. Just a dry run of weather in this month of August will come in drier than normal, also cooler than normal as well. And looking at that month of September, well, it starts off generally on a dry side but the possibility of a couple of fronts moving through from time to time.
Speaker 0:No major areas of low pressure expected to affect the Northeast over the next seven to 10 days. If you're traveling today with the frontal system moving through, there are some showers across New England, from Maine down to sections of New Hampshire, eastern sections of Massachusetts, but quickly moving on through. And then we also see some shower action across central and southern Florida. Generally dry across Texas, except for the northern Panhandle, from Amarillo and the Four Corners area, all with rainy weather. The monsoons continue there. Also some rain in Southern California, la, though probably escaping the showers, looks like generally dry conditions for San Francisco, seattle and also the Portland area over the next 24 to 36 hours.
Speaker 0:So no major problems travel-wise. Chicago's looking good, atlanta, charlotte no problems there, just not essential. In the south Florida there could be some isolated delays because of some thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. Today I'm your host, steve Pilatieri, and I am the weatherman. Looks like we have a great day coming up for today improving weather and looks like very decent conditions as we end this month of August and begin the Labor Day weekend this upcoming weekend. Hope you have a great day and a great week. Talk to you first thing tomorrow.
