Northeast Forecast: Dry Weather Continues with Above-Normal Temperatures
Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletieri and I'm the weatherman. Thanks for checking in to theweathermanpodcom on your Friday. It's the 12th day of September 2025. It looks like just dry weather continues across the Northeast. Normal daytime highs for this time of year should be around 78 degrees and for the most part we're going to be maybe about 2-3 degrees above normal for the next several days.
Speaker 0:As high pressure, currently anchored across central and northern New York State and southern New England, will be the mainstay across much of the eastern Steve board, with another area of cell high pressure just over Kentucky and Tennessee. That means dry weather for Washington, philly, baltimore, all the way up to New York City and the Boston area right through Monday and Tuesday of next week. We were watching a little area of low pressure along the coast, but it does look like it's just going to be drifting offshore and not really developing that. Right through Monday and Tuesday of next week, we were watching a little area of low pressure along the coast, but it does look like it's just going to be drifting offshore and not really developing that much. So this fair weather trend will continue, most likely right up through the middle of next week. Daytime highs upper 70s lower 80s, nighttime lows in the 50s. It's going to be that way Saturday, sunday, monday, tuesday and Wednesday of next week as well. But for your Friday, 12th day of September, look for sunny weather and temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
Speaker 0:Now, if you're flying today, it looks like weather is going to be good in Atlanta and Charlotte. New York, boston area no problems weather-wise there. Detroit, chicago, even Minneapolis, st Paul, though there will be some rain showers up there. It does look like generally good conditions and no major weather problems are expected for Minneapolis, st Paul or much of the Great Lakes. Looking at, fair weather, but warm in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth and looks like more rainy weather across four corners.
Speaker 0:There's been a lot of rain across the central and southern Rockies over the last few weeks. It looks like the next several days, no exception. Looks like dry weather for LA, san Diego, san Francisco I hadn't had some showers last few days, starting to dry out a bit there. Also dry in Portland and Seattle. So no problems weather-wise there. Central and South Florida still a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms could be the catalyst for some airline delays in and out of those cities over the upcoming day and for the most part about the same situation for the weekend'm an evangelist, steve pelletieri, and I am the weatherman. Hope you have a great day today. Talk to your first thing on saturday. See you then.
