Introduction and Equinox Preview

Hi , this has been your author , steve Pelletierian . I'm the weatherman . Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom on your Friday . It's the 19th day of the month of September 2025 . We're getting into the last few days of summertime , with autumn officially arriving during the middle afternoon on Monday . It's the autumnal equinox , basically representing the halfway mark of the sun's travels from its high point and a long duration of being out on the first day of summer to its low point and the shortest path that it takes across our skies on the first day of winter . And we're just halfway there . That's what the uptominal equinox represents .

Mid-Atlantic Weekend Forecast

High pressure is going to build across the region from the north and in the meantime we have a frontal system right across the region . So it does look like dry weather for the mid-atlantic and northeast high temperatures . Today will be very warm , should be only in the 70s . It's going to be into the mid 80s In some places even warmer . Upper 80s are a possibility , but we are expecting a little frontal system move through . East wind will keep our temperatures in check on Saturday and Sunday , but with dry weather and sunshine , another great weekend of September coming up and it looks like temperatures only range between 70 and 75 . Nighttime lows in the 50s on both Saturday and Sunday . By Monday we'll be going back up to near 80 on that first day of autumn and in the 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week . But possibility of a weather front , an area of low pressure and possibly some showers moving our way around the middle portion of next week .

National Travel Weather Update

If you're traveling today by airliner , you're looking at very good weather in Atlanta , no problems there . Charlotte's also looking pretty good . No problems weather-wise in the New York area , philadelphia , new York , newark , laguardia , jfk , all the way up to the Boston area , islip , MacArthur and White Plains no problems there either . Chicago will have some thunderstorms moving in during the afternoon . South Florida still with a later afternoon early evening thunderstorms .

There's been a problem down there the last few days , but it is the rainy season and looking at showers in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth , although a little bit drier in Dallas but on the hot side and expecting more showers across four corners and up in Minnesota as well . Minneapolis-st Paul overcast with rain , some light delays going into there . California has been having some much rainfall and it looks like it will continue , basically from the LA basin , northwood , up to San Francisco , san Diego , a little bit on the drier side also looking dry in Portland and Seattle , but some patchy fog and cloud cover expected there over the next 36
