Hi , this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier and I am the weatherman . Thanks for checking into theweathermanpodcom On your Sunday . It's the 21st day of the month of September 2025 . We've had some great weather for the last several days . This month of September in the northeast has been very , very nice . We did have some rainy weather this past Wednesday . There's also the possibility of some showers from DC up to the Boston area , maybe sometime later Tuesday and Wednesday of this week .

But autumn officially arrives on Monday and at that point temperatures will be warming up After a beautiful weekend . Today temperatures will range generally in the 70s because of an east breeze . It'll be warmer in DC and Richmond but a little bit cooler up in the Boston area as a big surge of high pressure moves downtown of central and eastern

Canada . But it will be dry for today , tonight and early tomorrow . As a matter of fact , tomorrow afternoon , as we get into autumn , temperatures will range back into the upper 70s . It may even go into the 80s for the first full day of autumn on Tuesday at 80 to 85 , with a chance of showers and thunderstorms . Late day and evening Frontal system over the Midwest will be arriving in the east . That will probably give us the chance of some showers even through midday on Wednesday , an improving trend weather-wise towards the end of this upcoming week . In the meantime , though , we've got a great day coming up for today Plenty of sunshine and our highs in the 70s .

Air Travel Weather Conditions

If you're traveling today by air looks like some decent weather down in Atlanta , with an area of moisture over the nation's midsection starting to squeeze into northern Georgia . But I think Atlanta is going to be in real problems in and out of their major hub across not only the United States but the world , looking at showers or a thunderstorm in extreme south Florida . But it does look pretty good for Fort Myers up to Tampa , st Pete , maybe a few isolated late-day thunderstorms down in West Palm or down in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and up in the Chicago area , just overcast with rain . There will be some delays going in and out of Chicago today , also around Nashville , same thing St Louis and also Kansas City , the possibility of some thunderstorms during the daytime . Today Does look like dry weather for Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth . Although there might be some late-day thunderstorms , the hazy , hot and humid weather continues there and it looks like generally dry conditions in San Francisco . Maybe some showers in southeastern California , close to the Arizona and Nevada border , but it does look like dry weather also in the Pacific Northwest . Nice conditions in Portland and in Seattle as well .

So no major problems except for the Chicago area , new York and Boston looking very , very good for weather-wise in and out during the daytime
